S2S project disappeared and replaced with new, empty tasks... Is this happening to anyone else?

Hello everyone,

I recently noticed that the S2S (audio) project was completely pulled from my dashboard, and a couple of new, different tasks were added in its place.

The problem is, whenever I try to access these new projects to work, they are always empty and just show an "All Done" (NTA) message.

Is anyone else dealing with this? Has the S2S project disappeared for everyone, and are your new tasks also empty, or is it just my account?

Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks!

Officially Certified by micro1 as an IT & Hardware Specialist — Continuing My AI Journey

I’m proud to share that I am officially certified by micro1 as an IT & Hardware Specialist after successfully passing its AI-vetted technical interview and assessment.

The certification validates my knowledge and experience in hardware troubleshooting, system performance analysis, technical problem-solving, and quality testing. It represents more than completing an interview—it is an official professional certification from micro1 in my technical specialization.

I’m also pleased to share that I have now completed the RWS Linguistic AI Certification Training and earned its completion certificate. The course strengthened my understanding of Linguistic AI, machine translation, LLMs, post-editing, and AI output quality evaluation.

Together, these two achievements allow me to combine a strong technical foundation with growing expertise in AI Evaluation and Quality Assurance.

I’m grateful to micro1 for the certification opportunity and proud to be part of this community. I’m looking forward to continuing my professional development and taking on new challenges and opportunities.

RWS S2S : Unacceptable QA ratings with no feedback and broken audit view

Hi everyone,

I currently work as an independent contributor on a remote AI evaluation project, and I have recently been experiencing what appears to be inconsistent and unexplained quality scoring.

My overall average remains above the required target. However, some apparently similar submissions receive the highest quality rating, while others receive the lowest rating.

The main concern is that several low ratings contain no reviewer comment, no identified error, and no explanation of which requirement was supposedly missed.

In one recent task:

Both model conversations had the same number of turns.

The opening prompts were closely matched to ensure a fair comparison.

The task required the use of a specific language.

One model switched to the wrong language during the conversation.

I ranked that model lower because this was a clear instruction-following issue.

Despite this, the submission received the lowest quality rating without any visible explanation.

I also attempted to access the detailed review page, but the task could not be loaded. This meant that I could not examine the audit or understand what the reviewer believed was incorrect.

I contacted support and was told that reviews should normally include explanatory comments, but that reviewers do not always provide them. I was also informed that the reviews are controlled by the client, which limits the support team’s ability to change submitted scores.

I am not claiming that every low rating is necessarily incorrect. I am simply asking for specific and actionable feedback:

Which part of the submission was incorrect?

Which requirement was missed?

Was the issue related to the conversation structure, the comparison, the final selection, or the written justification?

Is there internal reviewer feedback that is not visible to contributors?

General reminders to reread the guidelines are not very useful when no task-specific mistake is identified.

Has anyone else working on remote AI evaluation or data annotation projects experienced:

Low ratings without reviewer comments?

Review pages that fail to load?

Very different scores for apparently similar submissions?

Account restrictions despite remaining above the stated quality target?

I would appreciate hearing whether anyone received a proper manual review and how they handled the situation.

Removed from Aether after repeated connection issues and a possible AHT flag

I was recently removed from the Aether project. A community moderator suggested that I may have been flagged due to high AHT.

My concern is that much of the extra task time was caused by recurring technical problems. During many tasks, the models remained stuck on “Connecting,” failed to respond, or repeatedly disconnected before eventually working. When the issue could not be resolved, I used the official “Skip – Technical issue” option and reported “Can’t connect.”

I provided screenshots to Outlier Support and requested a review of my connection logs and technical reports. Support confirmed that my removal was an intentional project-level eligibility decision, but they would not provide the specific criteria or confirm whether AHT was the exact cause.

My visible QA average was still above the project target, so I am trying to understand whether other contributors experienced similar removals after platform connection failures or AHT flags.

Has anyone had the same experience, and was their eligibility ever reconsidered?

My Experience with Aether Live Voice (Live-S2S-Elo)

I wanted to share my experience and see if anyone else has gone through something similar.

I joined Outlier and was assigned to the Aether Live Voice Conversation Ranking (Live-S2S-Elo) project.

At first, everything seemed to be going well.

Most of my QA reviews were Exceptional and Good.

My quality score stayed above 3.7.

I spent a lot of time reviewing every conversation carefully, listening to the full audio, checking naturalness, utility, conversational dynamics, and writing detailed justifications instead of rushing through tasks.

Then my account was suddenly restricted.

After contacting Support, they reviewed my case and confirmed that the restriction had been applied by mistake, and they restored my account.

I returned to work...

Only two days later, I received another email saying I was no longer eligible for the project.

No explanation.

No warning.

No indication of what exactly caused the removal.

What makes this frustrating is that several of my "Unacceptable" reviews seemed questionable.

One example was a conversation where the model itself failed to follow the scenario, yet the review appeared to hold the contributor responsible.

Another review contained almost no meaningful explanation beyond a generic comment.

I completely understand that projects have quality standards and contributors can be removed.

I'm not claiming every QA review is wrong.

But when contributors receive vague feedback, cannot dispute reviews on certain projects, and are removed without understanding the reason, it's very difficult to improve.

I'm genuinely curious:

Has anyone else experienced being restored after a mistaken restriction and then removed again shortly afterward?

Has anyone successfully returned to Live-S2S-Elo after receiving the removal email?

Did Support ever explain the actual reason behind your removal?

I'm simply trying to understand whether this is a project-wide issue or if others have had similar experiences.

My Outlier Aether experience: account restored after an error, then removed again two days later without any explanation

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my experience and see if anyone has gone through something similar.

I joined the Aether project and put a lot of effort into every task. I usually spent 30 to 60 minutes reviewing each conversation because I genuinely wanted to produce high-quality work.

A while ago, my account was suddenly restricted. After contacting Outlier Support, they confirmed that the restriction had been applied by mistake and restored my access to the project.

I thought everything was resolved, so I continued working as usual.

However, only two days after my account was restored, I received another email saying I was no longer eligible for the Aether project.

What confuses me is that:

  • My quality score was above 3.7.
  • The majority of my reviews were Exceptional, with several Good and Acceptable ratings.
  • I only had a few Unacceptable reviews, and in some of those cases I strongly believed the QA feedback was incorrect or lacked sufficient explanation.
  • Whenever I asked for clarification or wanted to dispute a review, I was told that Aether currently does not support review disputes.

I completely understand that projects have evolving requirements and contributors can be removed for different reasons.

What I'm struggling with is the lack of transparency. I still don't know whether the decision was related to:

  • quality,
  • project capacity,
  • eligibility,
  • or something else entirely.

Has anyone experienced something similar, especially after having their account restored due to a confirmed support error?

I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences.

Thanks!

My Experience Applying to Micro1 Projects: Looking for Advice

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my experience and see if anyone has gone through something similar.

I successfully completed the AI interview and received the interview certificate. After that, I started applying for projects on Micro1.

So far, I've applied to more than 13 different projects, but every application ends with "Not Selected."

I completely understand that Micro1 is not the one making the hiring decisions. From what I know, the final selection depends on each client and their specific requirements. This post is not a complaint against Micro1. I'm simply sharing my experience and hoping to learn from others.

What confuses me is that while I kept getting rejected on Micro1, I applied to AI evaluation positions outside the platform, and within one week I received offers, started working, and successfully earned income from those companies.

Because of that, I'm trying to understand whether there is something I can improve in my Micro1 profile or applications.

Has anyone experienced repeated "Not Selected" results before eventually getting accepted?

Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Account Under Review Despite Strong QA Scores. Has Anyone Experienced This?

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone from the community or the Outlier team can help me understand my situation.

I recently joined the Aether Multilingual Live S2S ELO project and completed around 19 tasks over approximately 13 hours of work.

My QA results were consistently Exceptional (4.0/5.0 average), and I did not receive any negative QA feedback or quality warnings.

Shortly afterward, my project disappeared and my account status changed to "Account Under Review / Unapproved Annotator."

As far as I'm aware:

I completed every task myself.

I did not use AI to generate my responses.

I did not use multiple accounts.

I did not use a VPN.

I carefully followed the project guidelines.

I have already submitted an appeal and I'm currently waiting for a response.

Has anyone experienced something similar despite having strong QA scores and no negative feedback? Is this sometimes part of a routine review for new annotators?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through the same situation.

Thank you.
