Feeling lost, and on moving.

Backstory is that I am a Flight Attendant who moved out of my apartment into a motel to save money. I got a giant raise and now I have to make a big decision.

Option 1: I get a swank over priced studio in New Jersey with a View of Manhattan. Downsides are (1) zero NY dudes want to come to NJ. (2) Did I mention zero guys want to go to NJ? (3) I have to work a LOT of hours to afford this apartment. Plus side is that (4) if I met a guy from literally anywhere else, he would be amazed at the view initially, but once he went INTO the city, would find someone much hotter than me lol.

Option 2: I get a more financially friendly giant space in NJ like 45 mintues from NYC. Big, spacious, close to nature, in the middle of nowhere. Peaceful. Great to start a business which I would love to do actually. Downside is that zero people want to date me because I am like in the middle of nowhere'sville.

Option 3: I move to a new city and commute into work. I could move to say, New Orleans, and be a commuter into NJ. Downside is that I lose a bunch of days off commuting to work. Upside is that I am living in NOLA as well as fly out of NY/NJ to places like Europe. Hard to date initially but long term it's great.

Option 4: I move physically to New York City. I must be crazy. I would be commuting FROM Manhattan. I can't even imagine the trains/schedules/ubers in/out of Manhattan to NJ. A giant nightmare but the pros is that there is plenty of partners to date. Downside is that I have to work like 6 days a week to afford Hell's Kitchen. So I get laid a lot but I work all the damn time.

Option 5: I move to PA and drive to work. Pros is that it's super duper cheap to live there. Cons are that I have to drive 1+ hours to work in traffic. Con's are nobody local would date me because I am too far. Pros are that I would save a boatload of money which means I can travel the world.

So Reddit, what would you choose? For reference, I am over 50.

If you have a type or fetish, have you moved to that part of the world where those people are? Any good stores or bad ones?

If you are into Germans, did you move to Germany? If you are into Japanese guys, did you move to Japan? What was it like for you? What experiences did you have hunting for your type or fetish? Curious about the successes and the failures.

60% of the time, it happens every time.

I bet $25, the whole table plays basic strategy perfectly.

I bet $100, and everyone loses their minds and I lose.

I know it's just maths and there is no rhythm or flow to the cards, but man... every time I raise, the guy who keeps getting 16 v 10 alternates his strategy based on how many cigarette buts are in the ashtray or something and I lose.

Sure it's just bad luck, but it still sucks.

My tips and tricks for getting through my Virtual Interview (The video recorded one)

Here is what I did, and recommend. It might help.

First thing I did was watch the corporate YouTube Videos. Some links are at the end of this post. I took notes. I wrote down key buzz words. Flexibility, Long days, working holidays and weekends, and more. It's important to really listen to the things recruiters might want to hear. I wrote those down, and was ready to drop those into an interview or recorded Video Interview.

The next thing I did was got a pack of post-it notes and wrote down phrases to say so I was less nervous. I would say things like "I worked in restaurants and am ready to work weekends and holidays" or "I have full flexibilty to relocate to my base" or "I welcome the daily challenges with schedules and crews and look to exceed the needs of the job". I wrote them down on post it notes.

I then went and studied Conflict Resolution. Airlines often use the S.T.A.R. and L.E.A.R.N. formats. I wrote those down too. And then I wrote out notes for a time that I successfully used one of these formats, and changed a negative customer interaction into a positive one. Just bullet point notes, on tiny post-it notes.

So then I put all those little notes around the edges of my laptop and then I was ready for my Video Virtual Interview.

I wish you luck. Do the research. Practice your customer service stories. Watch videos your airlines put out. Know the CEO's name.
