Feels like home!

Remember I rented out an Ardente 190dQ comfort two days ago? Well I actually returned it early because a close friend of mine lend me one of his full spec ETK 8Re Long Wheel Base V12! YES ONE OF HIS 8Re since he has 2 of them! One is the more sporty variant with lowered suspension and black interior, and the other is the one I'm currently driving (comfort trim with white interior).

It really feels like home because I also have an 8Re LWB back in the US but it has a V8 instead, and the active body control module on that car broke. My mechanic told me it's actually impressive since my car has 215k miles (347k km), while usually the suspension lifespan is around 10 years, 150k miles.

Right back to the topic! My friend ask me to use his car because he hardly even uses it. Like it only has 2,173 KM on the odometer which is insanely low for a 2017 car! He also told me to do italian tune up (well he is italian lol) but I'm scared to even floor this car. It has way more power than my ETK at 650hp. Like I can't even give it a full throttle because of traffic..

Btw he's sitting right behind me (he wants to be chauffeured) and he drives crazier than me, so zigzaging about was with the owner's consent..

Man do I love how smooth and quiet this car is! It's like hovering above the ground!

Most sane and calm ETK driver

I wish they implement a stereo system which simulates the audio quality of a car depending on their category in the future. I mean they did with the neon thingy which is pretty cool and some modders also implemented this feature but like every car sounds the same.

Premium models like the etk 800, high trim vivace or ardente, bastion and etc need to have that very detail clarity and deep bass just like how high end audio systems would sound, while cheap old cars sounds like microwave speakers..

Tho yeah, adding an audio processing like convolution reverb with an equalizer distinct to each car is time consuming and very cpu resource hungry.

Just landed in Italy for a business trip, and rented out a brand new 2026 Ardente Comfort 190dQ

Quick review:

The car's transmission is a bit sluggish and harsh to respond. The diesel rattle is still noticeable and the engine itself is quite snappy and very fuel efficient.

As for the ride quality, I'm kinda surprised by how sporty this feels even though it's the comfort trim. I'm more of a plush ride guy, and that's one of the reasons I opted for a French car since they're usually known for the squidgy, plush, and cloud like ride. It's not overly harsh tho but it does feels quite firm. The noise insulation is pretty good for its price, and the sound system kind of lacks the lower frequencies a bit (this doesn't have the optional premium audio system tho). I might try the vivace next since people say they ride very plush and french like.

I'm used to driving the full spec ETK 800 Rennspecht Long Wheelbase with active body control suspension and a powerful V8. Coming from that, IMHO this car also feels special, and different from other cars despite it being not that overly expensive.

It was a really rough day at the office. Then this happened on my way home! Unreliable piece of crap 😠

My suspension blew while on a highway doing almost 200kph :(

Jokes aside I made this video just for fun! I really love the ETK 800, and this is one of my mod. The ETK 800 Active Body Control (WIP infotainment messages)

Always wanted to try out the camera path editor. First time using it, I know it's horrible lol

Current state of the ETK 800 Active Body Control Auto Leveling

It's much more complicated than it really is.. especially compared to the etk i hydropneumatic. There are still some bugs here and there. I will add a steer by wire later so that when suspension is calibrating its height, you can't turn the front or rear wheel (to prevent the auto level calibrating at the wrong value). I had to rewrite 70% of the code for it to work. The height adjustment slider in the tunings tab is now wired to the leveling sensor

(Etk 800 abc) My adhd side is really into active suspension

ETK 800 Active Body Control Mod Update:

So I've made a ui graph that shows the suspension activity. Oh I've also implented active dampers (adjust based on speed, corners, and vertical g-force). The rear wheel steering also disables when on park and drift mode

Mod link: https://www.beamng.com/resources/etk-800-active-body-control.38304/

New update is on progress and is still unreleased

(Ignore the audio lol 🤣)

Anyone interested on a vibration meter ui?

Second image is me slamming the rear boot close for reference..

I mean if anyone's interested, I might upload it to the repo later on

Note: Vanilla engines usually don't have any vibrations. This is for suspension tuning and stuff.. yeah It's quite useless unless you're a comfort geek like I am 🤣

I use this to tune my suspension mods ex. Etk 800 active body control, etk comfort plus, and etk i hydropneumatic
