First iem purchase advice

Hey everyone,I am looking to buy my very first IEM. It's actually a Raksha Bandhan gift from my sister, so I want to stick to a sensible budget (around ₹2,000) and absolutely do not want her to overspend on unnecessary gimmicks.

My Main Use Case:

Online Video Lectures: Listening to professors at home with background noise.

Single-Ear Wearing Style: I plan to wear only one earbud at a time while studying so I can still hear my family if they call out to me.

Environment:

Will use them mostly at home and sometimes in a quiet library.

What I am Looking For:

Comfort: Since I'll use only one earbud for 3-hour long lecture stretches, it needs to be lightweight and not slip out or cause ear fatigue.

Durability: Needs to survive a library backpack without the connector pins breaking easily.

Options I am considering right now:

Headphone Zone x Tangzu Wan'er S.G 2 (Brand New for ~₹2,299) - Heard it's amazing for vocals/comfort and has a better flat 2-pin connector than the original version.

CCA Phoenix (Brand New for ~₹2,178) - The metal build looks very premium and durable for the price, but I'm worried the metal weight might make single-ear wearing .

Which of these would be the smartest, most practical buy for a student? Are there any other hidden gems under ₹2k that fit a single-ear lecture use case better? Thanks in advance for the help!

Dad's B'day Gift (~20k): Xiaomi Pad 6 vs OnePlus Pad Lite ?

Hey everyone,

My sister and I are buying a Wi-Fi tablet for our dad (budget ~20k). He has never owned a tablet and currently uses a budget phone (Redmi 13C) for YouTube, Facebook, and reels. He literally holds his phone to his ear to hear video audio, so we want something with good quad speakers for hands-free watching.

He is notoriously difficult to please, so we are stuck between two exact opposite problems:

  1. Xiaomi Pad 6: The Snapdragon 870 has raw flagship power to last 3+ years without lagging. But it’s a 2023 device nearing the end of its update cycle, and HyperOS can be bloated, heavy, and annoying for a parent.

  2. OnePlus Pad Lite / Oppo Pad SE: Much cleaner, modern software (OxygenOS/ColorOS) that will get newer Android versions. But the hardware is a huge compromise (MediaTek Helio G100 budget chip).

If he encounters a sluggish UI down the line, he will complain. But if the software is cluttered or frustrating out of the box, he won't use it at all.

For an older parent who just watches videos and scrolls social media, what matters more in the long run? Raw hardware power or a clean software experience?

Appreciate any advice!
