I regret rejoining reddit and i think i am just going to wipe my account.

I feel ive become more hateful in general and its only been a day.

I have very strong opinions on religion (i hate it), lgbt rights (stand for) and whatnot, and have been leading myself into spaces with opposing motives to insult them.

I know i have an ego in general when i get attacled but social media really does get people to let their inner idiot come out

I feel bad and im so done.

EDIT: not to mention that people will pick at you if they think your tone is incorrect. tone guessing is impossible via text. no wonder everyone is so angry at someone else all the time.

Is packaging a project exported in the free edition into an exe with something like tauri illegal?

I mean, what does "modify" even mean? Does this count if it's just a wrapper?

I love android gingerbread.

This is going to be a really weird post but gingerbread was peak.

Not only was the ui design amazing but it lasted until like 2020 for companies to say "ok, youre out" and even then there are workarounds.

My first tablet was 2.3.6 in 2014 and it was amazing. It may not seem very optimal to use it 16 years later with its puny market share of 0.12% (as of 2022, meaning around 2.4 million devices lol) but damn even the weakest, cheapest, most broken down phones with processing power equal to a c64 could literally have one android mod a second ago, then two others a minute later.

May be nostalgia but i love it. Modern android is a joke beyond 11 for losing all of its charm and having two textures at max in the os' files, along with glaring performance issues if you dont own a 1000$ phone.

The language feels incredibly stagnant. Also being an esperantist feels incredibly lonely, among others.

I am an esperantist of 2 years and have wanted to learn it since at least 2022.

The language in general just feels dead. Despite being the largest conlang ever and possibly forever, it doesn't feel like new content is being made.

ALL spoken conlangs inherently have this issue. There is only a low chance that Esperanto will be as popular or more popular in 100 years than it is now.

Books are less and less published in the language, some years around a whopping ONE THIRD of the amount that was published in the early 90s, websites are almost basic html and are prone to link rot, and people claim it's booming?!

I've seen more content in toki pona, a language published two and a half decades ago, with like 1/200th of esperanto's apparent speakerbase. It may just be the case of the internet being itself, but I literally considered dropping the language altogether.

Another thing is how the community gets perceived. I'm not going to sugarcoat it, it is 100% valid. Sorry if this hurts some feelings. A lot of esperantists ARE nutjobs. The misconceptions about the language don't justify any of it. Toki pona speakers also have a bit of a bad rep, but it can be chalked up as passionate, and which, they are, as you can see that community being a lot more artistic and, well, young.

I also live in a country with a high concentration of eo speakers, maybe even the highest, hell, if this is what you call "high" then the sahara desert is equivalent to tokyo. There are no clubs near me. None. And to begin to think that those that exist are filled with people 50 years older than me speaks volumes. I wonder what will be in 30 years.

I have a few books in the language lying around, but they're from the 70s and 80s. all feels so lonely and i feel like being an esperanto speaker means being trapped in the past. IAL, but very eurocentric, basically no government support (wink wink hungary and china), and what seems to be denying its own decline.

Want to know the only conlang that is saved from extinction in the next 100 years? Ogden's Basic English. It has more usage than esperanto in teaching it feels like. Hell, it's not even a real conlang. Just... English. You can communicate with 1,4 billion people with it.

Sorry if this sounds rage filled and is lowkey uncomfortable to read but the community needs a huge revamp to be seen as stuck in the past. Thanks for reading.
