PS6 and Helix will be the last traditional consoles.

Losing disc drives shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. I know it sucks it has finally happened but anyone paying attention knew the day was coming. Now with the costs to produce a console skyrocketing because of ram, gpu, and hard drives the next step will be here before ps7 is released.

What's coming next is the cloud-based streaming device/console. This shouldn't be news to anyone either, but the point is as bad as it is to lose discs, this very well may be your last real console to purchase before everything is streaming. A cloud-based console will at least be cheaper to purchase but it definitely will be a streaming service to play the games.

And people blaming sony or the big greedy corporations are really just proving they do not understand basic economics. It's the same kids who think mcdonalds is purposely charging $8 for a mid burger by choice. They know they have no business charging that but it's not up to them to decide the costs to produce the burger. Sony even sent out internal memos saying they need their games to stop costing $300+ million to produce.

This will likely be end of the console era with ps6 and helix. The ram, memory, hard drive shortage isn't going to be solved in the next 10 years. Just have to accept that. By the time sony and microsoft are developing their next consoles AI will be exponentially more capable than today.

The future is

  1. AI frame generation.

  2. AI coding agents.

  3. Cloud-based console.

The only unknown is what will this do to multiplayer games especially FPS or anything competitive? You'll need upwards of a 10Gbps line to have consistent performance using cloud. This upgrade is coming to the consumer but as far as how ubiquitous it will be is unknown.

Videogames are still, by far, the absolute best value for dollar per hour of entertainment. Don't forget that. If you don't support ps6 you're only hurting your own entertainment options in the long run. If you're ok with small indie games then sure, those will always be around on PC. But if you actually like games with 20+ hours of gameplay in immersive worlds then you will have to support them being made because they will require $100+ million-dollar budgets.

It's very likely sony will partner with a lender and offer ps6 on 24 months, 0% interest loan for $40/mo like how apple sells their phones. You don't have to like it, but you do have to accept it if you want games like spider-man or God of War to continue to be made. This is the reality you live in now.

Here is a tip for you to stop wasting money and improve your health;

Eating 3 meals a day was a marketing scam created by big business just like the corrupt food pyramid from the 90s. It picked up in the 1800s when people were working 16 hours a day in a factory, so they needed fuel. When the 8 hours workday became a standard in the mid-1900s the "3 square meals a day" marketing went hard so people would continue eating. Your body doesn't need that much food per day, nor did it evolve to handle it. People used to eat dinner around 2pm...

Stop wasting $20+ eating 3 meals a day. It's unneeded and unhealthy. It will be hard at first because of the cravings but after a couple weeks your body will adapt, you'll get full eating one big meal around noon. Do this one thing and not only will your health improve, but you'll easily be able to afford a ps6.

I know we're not happy, but would you buy a $1000 ps6 if...

  1. It costs $42/mo with 0% interest. Similar to how apple sells their $1000+ phones.

  2. You could bundle in ps plus $50/mo

  3. In the first three years you get horizon 3, Intergalactic, enhanced gta6, new ratchet clank, Gran Turismo, maybe a bloodborne sequel, next Uncharted game, throw in next God of war after Laufey

  4. What if the games mentioned above were ps6 only...

I find it interesting because sony obviously knew the decision to go all digital would be controversial. They also know they have a very expensive ps6 to sell sometime in the next few years. It would be logical to assume they know they need big games to sell the console so they must feel confident in the lineup for ps6 so I think the games above are a likely assumption. (Bloodborne obviously just a hope)

question about toro z master that's being stubborn on startup

So, I bought this mower a few years ago used and it's been great. 72'' z master commercial from a local high school. It's given me this issue before but I'd like to finally solve it.

It runs fine, new battery last fall, but sometimes it just won't startup. I just get a clicking sound, happened to me this morning, just fiddled around with it for 15mins and then it started. Maybe it's the solenoid for the control arms?

I'm thinking it might be the starter but looking for advice on if there is something I should check first.

When I turn the key the battery gauge only goes to like 8volts and I just get the clicking sound.

When I disengage the parking brake the mower obviously does nothing to start but the battery gauge goes to 12 volts. Dont know if that means anything.

I figure it's either the starter, control arms solenoids, or the seat safety system.
