Gex: The game was made for 3DO so the box art shows the front of a 3DO long box ripped open, showing Gex and the jewel case inside which is accurate to the size. For ports of the game they didn't change the art, which works the least on the PS1 jewel case release because now the front shows inside of this jewel case is a smaller jewel case.

Werewolf The Last Warrior: Shows the titular Werewolf bursting out of the game cartridge and ripping through the box. This art work was put on the game cart's label, which almost still works but you can see the ridges in the image so it looks like a smaller cart is inside of the cart.

User Flares Are Back!

Long ago there were a bunch of custom emojis and flairs, but at some point a Reddit redesign broke them all. I finally got around to figuring out how to re-enable them and made a bunch based on the classic WoN lines, and a few extras.

You should be able to add one to yourself on the right panel.

What Are Your Favorite Video Game Main Themes With Vocals?

I'm talking about main themes with vocals/lyrics, songs you'd usually hear at the start of the game, or may kick in during a pivotal scene or the grand finale, or is a motif throughout the entire game.

For one of my absolute favorites I feel I gotta give it to "Jump Up, Super Star!" from Super Mario Odyssey. It's so catchy and full of energy. I love how dense the lyrics are with references, but it all is woven together in a way that does not feel to on-the-nose. "Here we go, off the rails" (starts with an iconic Mario quote), "You could say my hat is off to you" (the main mechanic of the game is throwing your hat), "Oh we can zoom all the way to the moon" (foreshadows the last level), "I'm flipping the switch" (it was a Switch launch title), and so on.

For a second choice, while there are many great Sonic the Hedgehog main themes I am gonna say "Open Your Heart" from Sonic Adventure is my favorite. I think it really sets the mood for that game well, especially the full version of the song with the slow buildup. I like the tension the song has, it's optimistic but things are not looking good. Many times I started up SADX and realized at the title screen the volume was way too loud when the riff kicked in. I got to hear Johnny Gioeli open his MAGFest show with it this year, and it was amazing.

Also a shout out to "Smiles and Tears" from Earthbound which plays during the end credits, despite being mostly an instrumental in-game there are official lyrics to the song. It's also hard to not enjoy a song that is basically a Beatles pastiche, being very reminiscent of Let It Be and the middle part being similar to Strawberry Fields Forever. I did a cover of this song once as a tribute to a friend, and it's still very hard to get to the end of it without tearing up.

These are only 3 of many, what are some of your favorites?

Samsung UN50NU7100 - Screen intermittently flickering then power cycling

My sister's TV has been having this issue on and off for a while. It usually happens when the TV has been off for a long period of time (like a few weeks), and eventually goes away when the TV is on for a while.

It has a stable image (backlight having full brightness and all), but then gets stuck in a loop of the image flickering with vertical ghosting, and then powers off, before restarting.

Again, it sometimes gets past this and stays on like normal.

Does this seem like something that could be repaired with a replacement part? I have experience opening up and repairing game consoles and PCs, but I've never worked on a TV before.
