We turned Saria’s Song into a vocal version !

Hi everyone!

My team and I have always dreamed of hearing vocal versions of some of the video game themes we grew up loving, especially from Zelda.

We’ve only just started our YouTube channel, and Lost Woods felt like the perfect track to begin with. It’s such an iconic and nostalgic melody, and we really wanted to imagine what it could sound like as a full vocal arrangement.

I’d genuinely love to know what you think. Honest feedback is more than welcome :)

I'm making a "Top 100 Most-Streamed Video Game Songs (One Per Game/Franchise)" Leave some suggestions on what to include!

To clarify, it is most streamed, meaning it has nothing to do with personal taste. I will also only be using Spotify and YouTube.

Here's where I'll need some help: I'm only doing 1 soundtrack/song per franchise or individual game. 100 in total. That's 100 individual games I need to check. Meaning only one Sonic soundtrack, or only one Zelda soundtrack.

I could just go down from the top 100 most popular video games, and then check their music, but that seems like a very flawed way of checking the most popular video game music. A video game could be less popular, but still have highly streamed music.

If you have an idea of a video game that has a highly streamed soundtrack or song, but the video game itself is maybe more niche, let me know. It's important that the soundtrack or song originates from the video game, meaning no non video game songs/music like GTA has. If it's original to GTA then that's completely fine.

So, just list a bunch of video games where I should check out the music. Thanks for your time and help! If you need more clarification feel free to ask.

Anyone know of unique/unusual game songs that have choir/choir-like singing in them?

Not really looking for orchestra or choir only. I'm specifically searching for something that usually wouldn't be paired with choir singing, like Final Battle from Freedom Fighters or even the metal choir from doom, very digital is also welcome, anything that's like really different is welcome.

Currently hooked on Moon Shrimp from Lunacid and recently got reminded of Devils Never Cry and now I'm looking for other songs with choirs/choir-like singing.

So far from my own saved songs I found Passacaglia Dei Saturnalia and Ball X Pit ost.

It doesn't need to be game music necessarily (for example Night Wing Astraea by Eugencs Scarlet Divinity) but game ost is preferred since I'm posting in this sub.

How Fall-from-Grace's Music Reflects the Philosophy of the Sensates

Hey everyone,

I recently started a game music breakdown series where I analyze music from games that have inspired me, exploring how musical choices reflect the themes, philosophies, characters, and locations within those games.

My latest episode is about "Fall-from-Grace" from Planescape: Torment. Alongside the harmony, melody, and orchestration, I also explore how I think Mark Morgan's music reflects both the philosophy of the Sensates and the character of Fall-from-Grace.

In particular, I argue that some of the compositional choices mirror the Sensates' belief that true understanding comes from opening oneself to the fullest range of life's experiences.

This is, of course, just my own interpretation, and I'd genuinely love to hear what fellow Planescape fans think.

Struggling to find what game this song is from please help

Anyone have any ideas? I remember hearing this in a game but I can't remember and its driving me crazy

https://voca.ro/1bPZWaZX5iiT

EDIT: I do know its from magledena thats where I got this clip from the first 10 seconds of the song. When listening to it I swear I heard those exact 10 seconds in a game before. After doing a lot of research it seems that it did actually inspire multiple games OST's or closely resemble it so my brain probably just heard the similarities to it. The closest I got to what I could remember was the original doom OST found here that someone posted in the comments thanks for the assist everyone unlocked some core memories!

I remixed FFV’s “Prelude to the Void” as a drum & bass

I made a short drum & bass remix of “Prelude to the Void” from Final Fantasy V.

I tried to keep the dark, mysterious feeling of the original while pushing it into a faster DnB groove. FFV has such a unique atmosphere, and this track felt like it could work well with heavier drums and a more modern energy.

Hope you enjoy it!

I am a beginner composer using FL Studio and a computer keyboard.

I wanted to ask if you guys would have any generic advice for me to improve! I notice the part that I struggle with the most is continuing a song or moving to the next part. Usually my songs are around 30 seconds to 1:30, but they do feel incomplete sometimes

I charted the roll credits song from ME1 for Clone Hero

The song is M4, Pt. II by Faunts

I also charted parts for bass, drum and keys

But obviously the guitar part takes the glory in this track!

Enjoy!

Hey guys i am working for an indie dev as a composer and instagram comments got into my head

I posted part of a boss music demo to advertise the game with a click bate title like "is this good boss music?" and a lot of people seemed to like it. Some of the comment were helpful but some seemed to miss the point of what i tried to invoke in the listener. I know its hard to imagine without gameplay but now i just kind of feel like a bad composer. They wrote that its too slow with the half time drums and doesnt have any urgency. I wanted it to have this large, mightier than you, inevatable feel. My main inspiration was risk of rain 2, star wars, and generic hard rock music. The dev and I are still happy with it but theres this thought now in my head "what if the players wont like it?". Anyways what do you guys think?

Edit: i dont really understand why people downvote me when im genuinelly stuck in my work and ask for help from people who are interested in gamemusic
