I played the opening to Gensou Suikoden at the QVB at Town Hall in Sydney. I go there on Wednesdays if anyone wants to come watch. I play all kinds of video game music and anime music.

Yesterday, I played the original Ridge Racer and while the handling of the cars is frustrating, the visuals and music have aged like a fine wine. I had fun adjusting to the gameplay and I clocked in quite a few hours. I am a fan of 2010's and 2020's games, but there is something special about games from the 90's and 00's that I am grateful that indie developers know how to capture because those are my favourite decades of gaming.

Seeing the time of day changes brought me back to my childhood and I felt that same sense of wonder that made me fall in video games. Seeing the sunset and then the night sky as you race past the trees and mountains into the tunnels where you see the orange lights glowing. A sense of speed, an exhilarating feeling and a love of the natural and man made world.

My entry will be uploaded to YouTube where I will be talking about the series and the character that I made for the contest. I am making cover music for it and an original theme.

To make this, I found the resources on Mobygames and made it 3D and animated it using DaVinci Resolve.

It looks beautiful! I love how they were drawn. God willing, I can't wait to wear it!
