Diane was always my favorite character ever since I watched it as a kid (which explains why I remember the show so good)

She GENUINELY DOES NOTHING IN ANY IMPORTANT FIGHT.

SHE'S LITERALLY A GIANT TOPH WHO THROW CAN THROW A CITY SIZED ROCK AT YOU, SHE DOES IT IN LIKE THE THIRD MINI ARC OF THE SERIES.

Like she's got earthbending, can create sentient minions, has Ringo chan voice actor and such an awesome design but she does NOTHING with any of her cool powers. King doesn't have this problem HOW DOES A CHARACTER WITH 10 WEAPON FORMS UTILIZE THEM ALL SATISFYINGLY, BUT AN EARTHBENDER GIANT WHO JUST NEEDS TO CRUSH THE ANT IN FRONT OF HER ALWAYS LEAVES ME SO UNSATISFIED?? Does she just exist to act cute and funny in the background?

But noooo all she does is get thrown around. I'm revisiting currently at the tournament arc where her and king fight against minions gloxinia and drole made. She fucking gets grabbed by vines, moans in pain, king dumps like 3 or 4 ults to save her (as she stands there getting grabbed again twice) and sits on the ground going "king.."

I know this is a rant of a random ass scene, and she gets up and joins the fight a bit later (but why tf were you sitting down as the guy in front of you fucking uses everything to protect you you're not even injured or tired)

but I'm giving an example to show that this series has:

No fight choreography, tons and tons of cool and useful abilities the characters show and never use ESPECIALLY DIANE, tons of talking and standing still as one character gets beaten to a pulp.

Like how do you have all these AWESOME fucking designs and such great manga artstyle and fuck up the fundamentals so bad?

If you want an even better example of why this series is bad at the core and fundamentals? IT USES POWER LEVEL NUMBERS. THAT'S LIKE WORST THING YOU CAN DO AS A BATTLE SHONEN.

I can't reitirate how much of a disappointment it is seeing all these characters I love being written so bad. I'll still like it, nostalgia is a bitch, but it's so bad

(Still better than MHA or any sports slop)

Man, this Chainsaw Man manga is so fucking good. It's such a shame the author kept it so short and never made a second part. It has so much megumi for new characters and I want to see how denji will evolve and I want to see more of him!

Kinta is literally the only Dandadan character with some semblance of depth and attempt at a character with struggles other than a dragged out love triangle and it's told in a tastefully subtle way. Not liking him tells me everything I need to know about you as a person

How is Marina a good example of a trans character if it was not her choice? It's literally the concept of "a gender being forced on you that you" she just happens to be chill with it. Does she even count as trans if it wasn't her decision to "be" a girl?
