HP Victus Bluetooth crashes and disappears whenever I connect earbuds and a mouse together

Hey everyone,

I have an HP Victus running Windows 11. My Bluetooth mouse works fine, but the exact second I connect my Bluetooth earbuds for audio, the entire Bluetooth system crashes.

The Bluetooth icon completely vanishes from my taskbar, and Device Manager shows a yellow triangle on the driver.

I can temporarily bring it back by doing a hard power drain (holding the power button), but it crashes again as soon as both devices are connected.

I have already tried reinstalling drivers, disabling Windows power-saving settings, but nothing works.

Accepted TCS offer letter. What do I do now?

Hey everyone,

I accepted my TCS offer letter on the NextStep portal after getting selected through my college's on-campus drive.

These are the only options I can see on the portal:

  • Home
  • Application Form
  • Offer Letter
  • Track My Application
  • ILP Corner
  • Background Check
  • Certifications

Now I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do next. My college hasn't shared any further updates or instructions yet.

One thing I noticed is that in the Background Check (BGC) section, all the fields are read-only, so I can't edit or upload anything.

Is this normal? Do I just wait for TCS or my college to contact me, or is there something I should be doing right now.

Thanks!

First time installing Linux Mint on my HP Victus, what should I know?

I recently replaced the SSD in my HP Victus, so I don't have any data to back up. Since I'm starting with a fresh drive, I've decided to finally switch to Linux Mint.

I won't be dual-booting, Linux Mint will be the only operating system on the laptop. I've wanted to daily drive Linux for a long time, and this seems like the perfect opportunity.

For those who have used Linux Mint on an HP Victus (or similar laptops):

  • What issues did you face during installation or daily use?
  • Any problems with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NVIDIA graphics (if applicable), battery life, sleep, or audio?
  • Are there any must-do steps after installing Linux Mint?
  • How has your experience been with gaming (Steam/Proton) and development tools?

I'll mainly use it for programming, occasional gaming, web browsing, and general everyday tasks.

I'd really appreciate any advice, things to watch out for, or lessons you learned after making Linux Mint your primary OS. Thanks!

HP Victus battery slightly swollen after only 63 cycles? Should I be concerned?

I recently gave my HP Victus (around 2.5–3 years old) to a local repair shop for cleaning. After opening it, the technician told me that the battery has a minor swollen area. He didn't show it to me, just mentioned it.

What confuses me is that I've always tried to take good care of the battery:

  • Adaptive Battery Optimization has been enabled for a long time.
  • I mostly use the laptop plugged in.
  • I rarely let the battery drop below 85%.

I generated a battery report and it shows:

  • Design Capacity: 70,070 mWh
  • Full Charge Capacity: 62,524 mWh (~89% health)
  • Cycle Count: 63

The laptop itself seems perfectly normal:

  • No bottom cover bulge.
  • Keyboard is flat.
  • Laptop sits flat on a table.
  • The only thing I've noticed is that the touchpad very occasionally feels a little harder to click, but it's rare and I'm not even sure if it's related.

Could keeping it plugged in most of the time have caused this despite HP's Adaptive Battery Optimization? Or is this more likely due to age, heat, or just a battery developing a slight defect?

Should I replace it immediately, or just keep monitoring it until there are visible symptoms?

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who's had a similar experience with an HP Victus or other HP laptops.
