I am attempting to plan finances post-divorce, but I cannot figure out how California calculates child support.
I consulted friends, did my research online, and even tried some calculators, but all of them gave me different information. Some friends tell me that child support depends on your income only, while others are convinced that parenting time matters.
I need to prepare for my case that will be held in Orange County and figure out California's rules of child support calculation before making any money-related decisions.

A friend of mine believes that the divorce proceedings in Beverly Hills are different from those in other places in California simply because of all the stories that are heard about divorcing celebrities. Having been through this process ourselves, we have realized that divorce in California is actually more or less the same, even if there are huge financial assets and marriage is very complicated, which could slow things down.
We are trying to figure out what will happen next. What is the first thing to do? How long does it take to serve divorce papers? At what moment does custody battle, child support and division of property commence in the process?
There are a lot of blogs and articles explaining how to file for divorce in California, but they are mostly boring and do not take into account individual experiences.

I'm divorced and have a court-ordered custody schedule here in Santa Clara County. My ex-wife recently found out I've started dating someone new, and ever since then, she has completely shut down. She is now refusing to let me see our kids during my scheduled parenting time and is ignoring calls and texts.

I need a good family law attorney who won't charge me an arm and a leg. Any recommendations for lawyers in the South Bay? I'm desperate at this point.
