The HoverWing (Hover Bike replacement)

Introducing the HoverWing!

It combines the best characteristics of the Hover Bike with the benefits of wing flyers. Unlike a Hover Bike, the HoverWing can glide, so you can recharge your energy cells while flying without having to use Zonai charges or waste time with Recall to avoid falling out of the sky.

The wing also adds other benefits, like easily carrying cargo and attaching weapons. It also gives it the wing’s unique flying characteristics, as well as significantly better vertical climb and peak dive speeds! All for only 3 more Zonaite. (The only part you need to use Zonaite for is the mini infinite Eventide wing.

Performance comparison between the HoverWing and Hover Bike

Straight line speed: Hover Bike 3.2% faster
Vertical climb speed: HoverWing 52% faster!
Peak dive speed: HoverWing 72% faster!

The Hover Bike is technically slightly faster in a straight line, but in actual usage the HoverWing is significantly faster, especially when you start trying to gain or lose altitude. For example, from the Hyrule Castle gates to the Sanctum, my best time was 50 seconds with a Hover Bike, but only 39 with the HoverWing, a bit over 28% faster

Anti-Aerocuda Missile

It actually works even better against ground targets, but I’m specifically optimizing for performance against flying enemies. The same improvements help it hit ground targets from off-axis if the enemy moves or your aim isn’t perfect. This version has about a 70-80% success rate vs Aerocudas fired from the edge of their render distance

Ace Combat (Hydra 2 fighter plane)

Hydra 2 fighter plane. It uses the same platform as my SuperWing, so the wing’s timer won’t count down as long as it’s powered, no infinite wing required! Don’t give those Aerocudas a chance to escape

The SuperWing: Cheap, Unlimited Range*, Glitchless. (build guide at the end)

It's unlimited range as long as it's powered. It works by generating enough lift with the fans that the wing does not lose durability while they're on, so the wing's timer is only counting down when gliding unpowered. Unlike a Hover Bike, you can regenerate energy charge while gliding instead of falling out of the sky, which lets you go much further.

You can get 3 full recharges while gliding without Zonite armor; with it, you can get 4. Using the backward falling trick a little bit, you can easily squeeze out one more recharge at the cost of a little altitude. If you use it exclusively, your flight time is only limited by the life of the fans. My longest flight time is 32 min.

Fully glitchless, it works in Switch 1 and 2. If you’re building one yourself, follow the steps in the same order to make one that flies perfectly level.

Parts list:
Wing x1
Steering Stick x1
Fans x5
Stake (for building only)

Flight Time (max energy cells)
Normal: 8:05
Full Zonaite armor: 20:30

Regular Wing (reference): 1:15

Flight Distance (max energy cells)
Normal: 5.95km
Full Zonaite armor: 16.5km

One Big Battery adds 2:15 flight time and 1.75km range

With max energy cells, you can get all the way across the map top to bottom, or about 80% across side to side. With Zonaite armor, you can fly non-stop from one point on the surface or the sky to any other.

It’s unlimited range as long as it’s powered. It works by generating enough lift with the fans that the wing does not lose durability while they’re on, so the wing’s timer is only counting down when gliding. Unlike something like a Hover Bike, you can regenerate battery while flying instead of falling out of the sky, which lets you go much further. It’s also really maneuverable and fun to fly.

It also has a short takeoff range, and it flies level enough that you can take your hands off the controller and do something else while you’re flying, even while it’s gliding to recharge the battery. Alternatively, falling backwards doesn’t use any durability, but at the cost of altitude

Parts:
Fans x5
Wing
Steering stick

It just uses a regular wing, no glitched wing required. Works on Switch 1 and 2

Edit: I figured out after I posted this, it makes a really good boat as well! And when its nose is in the water, the power draw is almost nothing
