Custom UTB18!

Finally finished my body for the UTB18. It's nice to have something Hobby grade that's not too big or small. Used TPU alongside PETG and PLA this time. Just waiting on a sunny day so i can do the detailing and weathering on the body. I might buy some bigger wheels and tires too, but I'm not sure where to look. Thanks for checking out my post!

UTB18 Custom Progress

Progress on my custom UTB18 body. Replaced the stock springs with some extra Injora springs I had for my SCX10.3. I might redesign the back cap that holds the power switch and covers the electronics basket eventually, it looks a bit out of place to me. I also chose not to add the light bar it usually has, that thing is SO bright and it runs hot. Other than that, I'm just waiting on some more greeble to print and a set of wheels to come in the mail. Then, I'll probably weather it and call it good!

Utb18 Custom

Working on my UTB18 chassis now that I have time. It's not pretty and it's not made with performance in mind, just something to be able to mount a custom made body to. I really want this to be a mid size rig to take outside when I dont feel like carting the scx24 or scx10 around. Hoping to design a weird scale scifi buggy body this weekend!

I want to turn a UTB18 Capra into some sort of 1/18~1/12-ish scifi buggy/truck to play around in the mud with. However, I've never worked on an RC car with a tube chassis like this. How easy is it to take apart? Is it worth it? I can't find a whole lot of info on customizing Capras. I'd like to stay with Axial since they come stock with Spektrum electronics, but I am open to other brands if there is something that would work out better. Thank you for reading and providing any advice!

Finally found an SPMXCA309 adapter on Ebay. Didn't have to wait months for the restock from Spektrum. I can charge my SCX10 and SCX24 batteries on one system now!!
