AITAH for telling my wife to stop blaming our child's behavior on ADHD?
My wife and I's 6 year old son was recently diagnosed with ADHD. I love the kid to death but he can be a handful sometimes and his behavior at school has been up and down over the past year - he got kicked out of his first school and sent to a school in a neighboring town that has a program for kids with behavior issues.
Ever since our son got the official diagnosis, my wife has basically been using his diagnosis as a reason to excuse his behavior. We are not talking about him just running around and being loud, but things like hitting people (for example yesterday my sister and nieces came to visit and our son whacked one of my nieces in the face with a plastic baseball bat), screaming obscenities and threats to people (for example, we were on the school playground and our son yelled he was going to blow up the school).
My wife just tells people that our son has ADHD and doesn't know better. He's got ADHD - not an intellectual disability. He's very smart for his age.
But today I lost it on my wife. We were in line for ice cream and our son was having a temper tantrum because he wanted an ice cream flavor they didn't care. He was screaming, yelling that he was going to blow the ice cream place up. I told him to be quiet and started walking him back to the car and my wife just said nonchalantly to the others in line, "Sorry, he has ADHD."
When we got in the car I told her to stop using his diagnosis as an excuse for his behavior and that obviously the medication he has been on for a month or so is not working and that using his diagnosis as an excuse isn't teaching him right or wrong. She called me an asshole.
So am I?

So I'm in the hospital with my wife as we await the birth of our second child. Any good horror audiobook recommendations to pass the time that are set in hospitals?
