Creamed Mushrooms on Toast [homemade]

I grew up eating this. My grandmother, who was born during the great depression, often made it for me, and it’s now a comfort food for me as an adult.

I’m not sure if when she was growing up, she would make it with canned mushrooms, but for me, she always made it with fresh sliced mushrooms, sautéed with onions, then she added salt and pepper, and a big pat of butter, pour in milk and a little flour to make a roux, and let it cook down. Served on top of a piece of toast.

Anyone else have recipes from their grandparents that might not seem super appetizing but to you just taste perfect and like comfort and Home ?

Letrozole side effects are no joke!

This is my first IUI cycle.

I had my first scan on Friday the 3rd and started Letrozole this morning. Dizzy, nauseous, and the hot flashes omg!

My next scan is on the 13th, they will decide if we can inseminate that same day or the day after or if we have to wait for next cycle.

My doctor is out of office from the 8-11 so we are a little limited this cycle but I am hoping. 🤞🏼

BC to delay cycle ?

I just got my period today. My clinic is closed for a few days next week, the doctor suggested the possibility of prescribing birth control pills to pause my cycle and resume when the timing works after they reopen instead of waiting until my next cycle.

My husband is anxious about this, I understand but I also don’t want to wait because next cycle will coincide with the time I go back to work (teacher) which would suck.

Has anyone done this with BC? Are there risks?

Avoiding multiples with iui

OK, walk me through your experiences or your knowledge around this subject.

Our doctor asked if we were trying to do multiples, and I was very clear that I am absolutely not, I would like to avoid multiples. I do not want to be carrying twins or triplets, etc. I’m very frightened of the potential medical complications for both me and the baby in the case of multiples.

What did this topic look like for you when you were going through the process? Did your doctor talk to you about it at all? Was there any point during the scams where they check to see if there’s a higher possibility of multiples occurring during cycle and what did they do?

Thanks in advance.

Second Parent Adoption

Hello fellow Queer Families,

My husband is a trans man, I am a queer, cis woman. We are planning to have a baby via donor sperm, and I will be carrying. We will use my eggs, as his aren’t in great shape. Genetically, I would be the only one related to the baby.

My husband passes for the most part, and his sex is listed as male on all his documents.
Would it be wise to pursue second parent adoption for our child? Or would it put us at more risk of scrutiny? We would put both of us on the birth certificate, but I’ve heard that this sometimes isn’t enough?

We are in the USA.
Any thoughts or experiences would be welcome.
