Have a family member who has stage 3 cataracts in one eye and stage 4 cataracts in the other. The cataracts have progressed pretty fast unfortunately. We have an appointment with a Montefiore surgeon, but while I’m sure the doctor that was recommended is great, I am concerned about surgeon experience in complex cataracts.

Does anyone have suggestions on surgeons, within/close to NYC area? Also we’re trying to get this done ASAP because we’re concerned about complications with time, so would appreciate if you could provide any insight on wait times. Also we are generally open to traveling if we find a good surgeon.

I generally don’t really regret things, but this has been bothering me for a while.

I was hyper focused on school/work and prioritized my professional life over my personal life. Was first gen and I guess I had a lot to prove. I wanted to do the best I could professionally. Now I’m looking back at almost a decade and I don’t feel good about the sacrifices I made (particularly as it relates to dating/relationships/kids - I’m single lol). I don’t usually feel this way but I’m having a hard time accepting it almost.

Does anyone else feel this way? It’s kind of eating at me. How do you accept it?

Piece of plastic in my bowl today. Idk what’s going on but it’s been hair, an avocado pit and now plastic in the last two months. This might just be it for me. Hair is annoying, plastic is a choking hazard.
