Fantasy busts for 2027 drafts

There are so many players from the top 2 rounds this year who’ve underperformed, whether due to injury or just bad play. Without projected ADP out for next year yet, I’m curious what round people think these guys will go in a 12-team league. Thinking about Gunnar, Vlad, Tucker, Raleigh, etc. Even J-Rod hasn’t been 1st-round worthy this year

Yordan Alvarez

I’ll start by saying that even though I love sweeping the Yankees, I have no delusions about a playoff run, and Craig (if he’s still in charge) should absolutely sell almost anyone he can. I hate the buy/sell thing where it doesn’t make the team legitimately better. If you’re gonna sell, sell like you mean it. However, there’s one exception to that in my head.

Yordan Alvarez.

If there’s any way that we can trade for Alvarez without giving up Arias, I’m pulling the trigger. Build a package around one of Early/Tolle/Bennett, add one of the outfielders, and maybe a top 10-15 prospect, and then extend Alvarez. Yes, it may feel like an overpay, but there are legitimately no impact bats available this offseason in free agency. If you can pencil him into the middle of this lineup for the next five years…that makes me excited in a way I haven’t been for this lineup in a long time.

And before you immediately say “I’m not trading Tolle”, would you trade him straight up for Yordan? Because if you say yes to that (and to be clear, you should say yes to that), that means that he’s on the table. You just build the rest of the package accordingly from there

Help with hanging a porch swing

My wife and I just moved into a new house and I want to hang a porch swing on our front porch. The ceiling of the porch is covered with this plastic/vinyl material. What is the best way for me to figure out where the joists are to put the bolts into? I don’t have a good way of accessing the space from above and my stud finder just seems to ping everywhere. Do I need to take down an edge of the moulding and try to pull the ceiling down?

Barred owl box

I recently moved into a heavily wooded, quiet neighborhood in central NC. Every night I hear barred owls. Our lot is half wooded with tall oaks and beech trees but there are plenty of easy flight paths. I want to hang a barred owl box, which I actually already have from our last house.

Is 15-20 feet sufficiently high to hang it? Does the type of tree matter? Is it okay to have it east-facing? Do I need to put nesting material into the box?

Because I’m already hearing owls calling every night, is there a way to help them find my box? Or at this point in the year do they all already have homes?
