Hi all, sick of the deco app… I recently built a Topton box with OPNsense, adguard, wireguard vpn, crowdsec etc to be my primary router and moved my decos (1x BE65 and 2x X95) to be wifi AP only with wired backhaul.

Now, I’d like to just move on from them and go for a ceiling mounted AP.

I’d like to have the same SSID across my 3 AP consisting of a primary network (combined 5G and 2.4G on same ssid)for my household devices, but also a legacy/IoT network which is 2.4G only ona seperate SSID.

What model AP am I looking at in the omada range?

All, so NOT a landlord… but executor of a cousins estate which he had two rentals. Unfortunately they must be sold for probate etc. both have tenants, both long term. The rents were always well below market, but so was the upkeep. Things were fixed, but painting etc overlooked. I think the tenants were ok with that kind of arrangement.

Anyway, both houses could do with a fresh coat of paint etc to assist with the sale.

As a tenant… what do you think is and isn’t fair? We aren’t out to annoy or upset the existing tenants, but also want to present the places well for sale and need them sold for probate.

I’m struggling to find an online supplier that does sliding shower barn doors that the rail fixes to an existing tiled wall. They all seem to be a fixed panel and the sliding glass door with the rail fixed to the fixed panel.

Anyone know of an online store that does them?

Hi, I have a newly setup Topton N150 with OPNsense running bare metal for my new router.

It has a SIM card slot, but o believe I need a cellular modem in M2 format to make it work.

Does anyone have any advice for hardware requirements?

My particular Topton was this in the N150 big case style.

Finally deployed my new N150 with OPNsense running and added on adguard, cloudflare, NordLYNX and when I get back into it, wireguard vpn…(EDIT: Have since added Crowdsec and the wireguard VPN)

Was touch and go to begin with, but think it’s humming along nicely now…

Any tips or pointers for new users?

My home fibre connection is 2.5G and all my routers and wifi router are 2.5G. So minimum looking at 2 x 2.5gbe nics.

Claude is recommending a N100. Id like to keep costs down along with power, afaik an N100 is around 10W…

What hardware would people recommend for the above use case? Don’t need overhead for anything else, as this is all this device will be doing.

So we have a HomeKit and iOS home and devices, I do however also run Home Assistant with a plethora of things going on as a backend.

My recent foray into a self hosted recipe collection called mealie however has uncovered an issue I thought would be easy through the use of CalDAV.

I already have my iOS calendars synced into home assistant, but reminders / lists is another beast altogether.

Are there any apps I can run on my iPhone or ATV that will complete two way sync with something else that is a little more open?

Parent here who has an upcoming short notice meeting with our child’s school.

We have raised concerns over one particular grade 4 class that has one teacher with a second roll who is absent a number of days each week to fulfil those duties while a relief teacher takes the class.

We feel it’s detrimental and a number of other parents are the same.

Homework not being collected or issued among common incorrect information about upcoming requirements for the week etc.

A number of the students refer to the relief teacher as the fun teacher as they don’t do anything and our child among others hasn’t developed the same bond they have in previous years with the main teacher.

Are there any talking points anyone would suggest we raise with the junior college dean?

We aren’t going to discredit either teacher personally, but more raise our concerns that the current dual teacher arrangement isn’t working nor is it fair for the students.

Although it’s irrelevant, but we pay $3000 a term for this school… our local catchment primary school is amazing from all accounts and has less kids per class as well… 🤦🏽‍♂️
