Website to look up mathematical properties?

I just started a science major and I've noticed how different the way to teach math is compared to highschool. The teacher will list you properties of whatever is teaching (vectors, cross product, matrixes) and then proceed to prove some of them before giving you any exercises. However I feel copying these is redundant and makes me miss important parts of the class. Is there any resource where I can easily look up for these properties? Particularly numbered and in a list the same way are presented in class.

Mask for a cyclist?

So I have a bicycle, I use it a lot. I wanted something to not inhale all that exhaust gas from cars ahead of me, and in general to not suffer the air quality related health issues of big cities in general. At the same time, I want to be able to breathe enough to maintain good stamina.

  1. Is it like a trade-off where you must choose between a powerful filter that suffocates you, or a mask that lets plenty of oxygen but is weak to block the nocive stuff?

  2. Are masks as powerful to prevent things in than to prevent things out? So will the inner of the mask and my skin be unhygienic after enough exhalations?

  3. I heard some I could try are n95, n95k, kf-94; What are relevant differences or do have other recommendations? I really don't mind about budget, I just want to feel safe.

  4. What are the physical places I can buy these things exactly? Painting shops, chemical companies or what?

  5. Really any advice or assessment is welcomed.

I'm a beginner - is there a standarized system to place your hands?

I've noticed while playing piano, you get to kind of "improvise" your hand positions to play whatever the song asks you to play. And I'm thinking, this reminds me of the random finger positions I had while typing before I learnt there was a standard position for your fingers that allowed for congruent positions and therefore more efficient typing. Instead of having to figure finger positions for each word you just know which is the one you should use and anything else is wrong. Is there something like that for piano? If not, is there at least some general rules?

https://i.gyazo.com/9a832c13424c85f943676ded09896300.jpg

Trustworthy source to learn cases, please?

I see different websites saying different things, check these two in genitive plural for example

https://www.russianlessons.net/grammar/nouns_genitive.php

https://www.russianforfree.com/grammar-of-russian-nouns-genitive.php

One mentions if it ends on ц it should also add ев and the other doesn't.
One specifies whether there's consonant or vowel behind Я on femenine, the other doesn't.

I caught the former saying Стол should be Стоях in prepositional plural, the latter says it's Столях.

I've had enough, can someone give me a reliable source? I don't mind if it's too technical, I just want to get the thing right. Also not in video format.

City cycling, on feeling unsafe

I've recently bought a bicycle and from the start I had many worries, many of which I found protocols to prevent or just learnt to manage.

However there's a very concrete situation I fear I can't seem to find a way around. So I have to ride my bicycle in the right side of the road, for cars on my left to circulate freely. When there are rows of stationed cars on that same side, I slow down to react to any of them opening a door in front of me, and also to not stray completely if the car behind me pokes my shoulder by accident or anything related to a lack of situation awareness. But what if one of the stationed cars opens the door right while I'm passing by their side, so instead of obstructing my way they just push me and cause me to fall, even in front of the vehicle on my left that I was making way for?

People recommend to check the front seats from behind however this is not always possible, either for the type of vehicle or window that doesn't let see the driver from behind. How would you deal with this? Overall how do you deal with the constant danger as a cyclist in the city? What other dangers do you think are worth considering? Any advice is welcomed, remember I pretty much just started with this.

Does the body hate uncooked, traditional oat?

Pretty much the question. Been plant based for years now. I just love love love uncooked oat, tastes so much better than cooked. I soak them for 5-10 minutes before eating. Sometimes my body doesn't like it, sometimes it doesn't seem to care? I've never went deep enough to study it in depth. Are you guys knowledgable on whether this is a mistake? If so, why and what are alternative ways to consume oat? I was thinking toasting it..

Why my vitamin B12 supplement has 125,000% the daily intake?

Pretty much the title. It has 3000 mcg per unit which even on the box will tell you, it's 1250 times the recommended daily intake of b12 for an adult... even though it instructs you to take one every day. Is there risks to this? If not, can't I just split it on 4 and make it last 4 times longer lol..

Also when do you take your b12? Before a meal, after, if so what's the delay? Any other information I might be skipping?

How to say "bother"

Whenever I look for "bother" translations, I find just so many words... Could you make it easy for me and tell me which word/s is/are the most common or fitting for these contexts?:

"You didn't have to bother!" (Thankful)
"Don't bother to call me again" (Indignant)
"Quit bothering me" (Annoyed)
"If it's not a bother, I'd like to ask you something" (Polite)

You don't need to translate word by word if it's not how these phrases play out in Russian, but just what expressions or structure do you use on each situation?

Do you like stories? How about people trying to summarize their lives in a single reddit post? Well if you do, stick around.

Long story short, best friends left when I was 9, ever since my irl frienships were all shallow, on the bright side there were some good online friendships and overall felt at home among gamers, however it gets old and I currently don't even want friends anymore.

Single parent was my hero until at 11 started saying really mean stuff for the most absurd things. First was going crazy to the point of implying they wish they didn't have me because I didn't want to get rid of an old coat I had, and from there on reasons to obstaculize my life, shatter my will and crush my emotions only escalated on absurdity. Just recently we're kind of at peace, but my trust or love for them is long gone.

Girl started talking to me when I was 13 and I think she liked me, I started obsessing around her. However as you might guess from my last paragraph, my self esteem wasn't great at the time. Didn't make a single move during highschool, tried to recover contact a year after and got ghosted. Insisted, got ghosted more, until I got rejected, then ghosted further, then blocked. Yes I was desperate but for what's worth I didn't really said anything bad to her. This last issue is the one bringing me here today, since I've been from 13-18 crushing on her, then from 18-22 simping on her and ended up with the hands empty, older and just unhappier.

At some point I'd regret not making a move, but at times like these I just wish she never talked to me to begin with. I think the best outcome would've been if she'd have been direct and open from the moment I told her I wanted to recover contact, but she instead REALLY dragged the situation with the ghosting thing, then still didn't clarify what exactly happened between us but at least did reject me.

Then I think, well, this is just the way things are. Fairness is subjective and the world wasn't meant to be it anyway. People is imperfect, so they sometimes disappoint. I am imperfect, so I sometimes fail. And that explains everything yet leaves me with a face of bitterness I can't wash off.

It just really collides with stuff that I thought mattered.. wherever I go people around me normally think I'm kind and talkative even if lonely. People praised me throughout my life and right towards the end of highschool I was kind of "popular" and I thought sticking to rigid moral values would somehow have a reward at the end, even if it just meant a decent rejection (entitlement I know but cmon..). But I see all the things that built big parts of the way I perceived myself and realize, well, either I lost them or they just don't matter. Makes me keep things more to myself and be more antisocial because what's the point of talking with people at all then?

And when it comes to relationships, it's not just this girl, it's also about the future. I really don't think I'll ever find someone that comes even close to her, but even if I were to settle with less, I don't think the other person would like to settle with being a second place. And do I even believe in love at this point? If everyone's only fit for me when circumstances allow it, how am I supposed to love someone that in other circumstances wouldn't flinch to do the exact same than the previous person did?

I return to "this is just how things are". Alongside the kind of things I think Dr. K would say, there's this book from the Dalai Lama that talks about not having a favorite person, because we're all victims of our own circumstances, therefore we don't deserve credit or blame for our actions (even if we're still responsible of them) and we all have the same AND inherent value. And all of that makes complete sense, and builds a more stable perception of the world, but it really goes against the narratives I've cultivated for so long and I guess this person was the last bastion of hope I had for it, and I still don't want to quite let it go even if at this point is just hurting me.

All of this makes me feel like at a dead end in life and lately intense sorrow but videogames help me survive.

Anyway we're at the end of the post and I just want to spend the last paragraphs with all the positive things that I acknowledge but of course I don't really care much about.

- When I left highschool I was barely able to go outside to the street. I'd go out wearing a big coat, hood and mask. That's just to give you an idea of how unprepared I was to face life at the age of 18. I'm kind of proud I managed to become relatively a decent human without having a guide on the most basic stuff.

- I'm concerned about my physical health and take walks/eat healthy even when I feel my life is going nowhere. Went vegan 3 years ago and that's gotta be the best decision I made in my life. On a tangent to this, it's kind of frustrating to know being sad is unhealthy, I sometimes feel I wouldn't mind to be unhappy if it didn't get in the way of being healthy, and sometimes being healthy is the only thing driving me to overcome this unhappiness.

- I kind of had good moments even after highschool ended. I've spent a lot of time interacting with people all around the world through the internet, because so happens that was the time I started really learning English.

- I watched a lot of healthygamer and self-help content in general, I also just mentioned a book I read (name's "7 steps towards love" by the dalai lama).. And tho I quit journaling I did it for a long time as well (I have like 10 notebooks full of walltexts and draws). Having done all this somehow means something to me, and I feel I have something valuable to give to the world, but never really got to actually do anything on the world? Besides trying to help out depressed people on the internet through places like this one. However I stopped doing all of these things because I felt I needed to stop swirling on the theory and take action (this year I tried signing up for college again but messed up and now I gotta wait another 4 months).

- Economy here is doing well, education is free and despite our differences, I don't think parent will ever kick me out from home. I sometimes look at the things happening in the world and feel I'm extremely ungrateful, but yeah...

- I haven't talked about my childhood because I think it's just fine though I've been a gamer since I was 3 and it's always been the thing I've spent most of my sparetime.

I have to confess I do feel better after writing all this. Any comment is welcomed: advice, analysis, sheer judgment or just a virtual hug. Again I'm pretty much all on my own so I'll take any feedback. Take care Healthygamers (I still love that the piece of humanity that is this community exists, even though I'm not around anymore).
