PAM422 out for the day

Panerai PAM422 on the wrist today.

Still one of my favorite Panerai references — 47mm, clean dial, gold hands, domed crystal, and that old-school Luminor case presence. It’s a big watch, but on a soft tan leather strap it feels surprisingly natural.

There’s something about the 422 that just captures the Panerai spirit for me: simple, bold, slightly vintage, and very much its own thing.

Replanting tips?

Just uprooted these, grown from seed ranging 3-6years approx. Planning on trimming down to the tap roots, drying (7days shade), and replanting in a mix of 3 parts pummice, 2 parts akadama, 2 parts limestone gravel, 1 part cactus substrate.

Question: The younger cacti will be ok in that more mineral earth mix?

[PANERAI] PAM1086 on Italian Leather

My PAM1086 on a warm Italian leather strap.

I’ve always liked this watch because it keeps the Panerai formula very simple: 44mm Luminor case, clean black dial, painted numerals, hand-wound movement, and no date. The strap adds a bit of warmth and vintage character without making the watch feel too dressed up.

This is one of those combinations that reminds me why I like base Luminors so much — simple, comfortable, and very Panerai.

Anyone else prefer the cleaner base models over the more complicated Panerai references?

I’ve always liked this watch because it keeps the Panerai formula very simple: 44mm Luminor case, clean black dial, modern painted numerals, hand-wound movement, and no date. The strap adds a bit of warmth and vintage character without making the watch feel too dressed up. Also, these modern cases with the P.6000 are slightly thinner than older cases that used 6497 movements.

The PAM422 really wears perfectly — clean dial, solid presence, and everything about it feels iconic. Paired it with a soft camo leather strap, and it’s breaking in nicely.

Anyone else rocking a 422? How are you styling yours?
