Dichotomy = Duality

A beautiful LW dichotomy from Zacatecas

I think the Ying and Yang suits the duality vibe☯️😍

Two weeks out in the air.

Sowed on the 26th of January. Took the lid of two weeks ago. They are still sitting on the same windowsill and i give them water when i notice the bottom looks dry.

(Left picture is now and the right one is two weeks ago)

Hard grown, when?

The largest one is a yearling, the others aren't far behind, whens a good time to start hard growth? Blend is about 80/20 organic, inorganic. Mostly coco coir and worm castings for the organic.

Plant ID

When I purchased these two I was told both were Koreshii. Now they’ve bloomed and I’m wondering what I really have. Thanks.

Any ideas

Hey guys and gals, any ideas what these holes might be from? There doesn’t seem to be any damage to any of my other buttons

Jourdaniana is a hybrid! Proof in a paper! (from Canada)

Free to download on official page. And here it is (the paper):

https://ucalgary.scholaris.ca/items/fae4eebe-4aaf-4962-bcaf-bf2e3a1885ff/full

Abstract from the paper: "The unknown parent is likely not part of the Lophophora genus due to the greater than

10% difference in average gene similarity with the small compartment. It can also be ruled out

that the second parent is E. pachanoi given the lack of similar genes (see Appendix 4). There are

a few theories of what the other parental plant could be, such as cacti found growing near L.

williamsii including but not limited to Ariocarpus spp., Turbinocarpus spp., and Mammiliaria

spp due to their proximity to wild peyote button sites (Niesel, 2018). L. williamsii have been

shown to successfully crossbreed with the latter two genus in a greenhouse setting but there is

limited evidence of wild hybridization (Schmidt, 1969)."

I decided to sprinkle the seeds around the mother plant and just noticed this little fella growing under the "nursery plant"

All ive done is mist the top dressing now and then to try and keep it relatively moist to help the seeds germinate. Hopefully there are a couple more of them germinating in some hidden spots i cant see right now.

Save the seedling!

Purchased this little guy and didn’t realize at the time but in the bottom right in the picture there’s a little guy hiding out, how do I give him the best chance? I want to gently separate but not sure how to go about it. Would it be bad to put back into high humidity considering he’s been hanging out here? Should I let him ride? No telling if he’s a loph yet but whatever he is I want him in the family 😂 TIA and any help/ advice is greatly appreciated!

Some flowers from the other day. Got some northern (not pictured) going to flower today but I’m stuck at work 😞 hopefully I’ll get to pollinate it when I get home. Maybe the bees will help me out aha.
