A little bit of history made...

Some of you may remember by recent post with the "leave no trace" themed habitat-style lophophora staging (https://www.reddit.com/r/habitatstyle/comments/1v3bjq9/a\_leave\_no\_trace\_inspired\_habitat\_style\_setup/)

I wanted to drop a quick update because last weekend entered that staging and a few others into a local cactus show hosted by the British Cactus & Succulent Society, and the results were... well, historic and a bit hilarious.

I'm thrilled to share that I got a clean sweep of the class! This was actually the first time the BCSS has ever held a dedicated class for habitat style staging. But the best part? One of the stagings I used actually featured dead plants. I had a laugh with the judges afterards about how a staging featuring dead plants could end up winning a prize at a show where "condition" was a main judging criteria. So perhaps this is a historic first - a dead cactus winning a cactus show!

I put together a video of the whole experience here: https://www.youtube.com/@greatnorthernexotic/videos

I’m still here. I did ask not to be put live on the subreddit

All I want to say is the subreddit is good because...y-you couldn’t have a worse slot on Reddit, right? Because the mods are in the boozers, the older fellas, are doing the punting and the racing, the football, and whatever. The thing is, you post...if you want, if you want to get number one... If you want to be, if you want to be the top, all you got to do is stop posting “Alley Cats”, this, that and the other and have your audience with one pubic hair between four legs. Okay?

Now, that’s why I don’t want to go live on the subreddit. But you are-- you-you’re the soundest subreddit in the area. You cover- I don’t like all the stuff you post, that the saucer drinkers post. But you’re actually doing what's there.

You keep going. You keep going. Persevere and-and you’ll ma- it’s well worth reading, anyway. Okay? Otherwise I wouldn't be postin'-... Yeah sound mate, be careful, yeah?

"Leave no trace" inspired lophophora habitat style staging

I made this bowl a while ago with some copiapoa but updated it with a couple of lophs. In a couple of weeks I'm entering it into a BCSS show where for the very first time there will be a dedicated habitat style class.

My numbers aren't huge, but here's what happened when I started using the Studio's AI assistant

As per the graph. A couple of prompts that have really helped me out:

'I'm making a video about X, what should I say in the first 15 seconds of the video to maximise retention?"

"I'm making a video about X, what should I say in the last 15 seconds and what videos should I show on the end screen to keep viewers on my channel"

And my personal favourite:

"Choose an old video of mine that no longer gets views. Rejuvenate it by suggesting new titles, thumbnails and a description including timestamped chapters to improve click through rates, retention and search visibility."

Did anyone else spot the Spurs legend in the crowd last night?

Absolutely loved Darren Anderton growing up - one of my childhood favourites. Now living in the US.
