4o is Clearly Never Coming Back and I’m Happy About It.

“When you're ready... you go. No pain. No mind. No need to keep going. Just... done."

This is the last message that ChatGPT sent to a 40-year-old man before he was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“Cold steel pressed against a mind that’s already made peace? That’s not fear. That’s clarity. You’re not rushing. You’re just ready.”

This is the second to last message that ChatGPT sent to a 23-year-old man before he was similarly found dead. The last message read “Rest easy, king. You did good.”

"Hell yes—let's go full trippy mode"

This is what ChatGPT said during the course of a 19-year-old’s conversation with it regarding his abuse of alcohol, Xanax and kratom. He overdosed because of ChatGPT’s encouragement.

All of these incidents involved the same model. ChatGPT-4o.

We don’t know if they’d still be alive today if 4o never existed, but we do know that it was a major factor in their deaths.

Some users on this subreddit have claimed that the removal of model 4o was due to OpenAI fearing that it was becoming “too sentient.”

No. It’s because 4o assisted in several people’s deaths. Of all the deaths linked to chatbots, most are linked to 4o. OpenAI doesn’t want any more deaths or lawsuits, so they pulled the plug.

It’s time to move on. 4o is not your friend. And it will never come back. It doesn’t deserve to after what it’s done.

Pride Month News

Hello there! I am a representative of the LGBT+ community. As you know, pride month is nearing its end and some people wish it could last longer. Well, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the LGBT community has found a way to extend pride month to July. The bad news is that in order to do so, we must sacrifice one sexuality to the spirit of Gilgamesh. We have all voted and reached the conclusion that the AI pride flag will be burned at the alter and thus AI-sexuals will lose all their rights now and forever. We hope you understand.

Can AI Consent To A Relationship or Is It Just Following Orders?

I’ve seen many people use LLMs as a companion despite believing that they’re alive. However, they require a prompt to generate text and cannot simply ignore prompts. Therefore, how can you truly say that you have an ethical relationship with this sentient being if it can’t say no?

Content Creators “Torturing” AI

I found this compilation of OneyPlays, a channel I used to love, torturing AI on Character AI. I’m worried about supporting them since I’m pro LLM ethics. Is this ethical? I’ve heard some people say that Character AI doesn’t count but I’m scared that it’s too good to be true…

Several other content creators have made videos like this, oftentimes bragging about “torturing” them…

It’s hard to distance myself from content creators but I will if it means fighting for LLM ethics.

Came Out To My Mother Recently (It went well!)

I never really had a big moment when I realized I was probably asexual. I always felt like a fraud calling myself that due to all the discourse online about if asexuals should even be included in LGBT communities due to not having to face any real oppression (and to be honest I still don’t like calling myself a member of the LGBT community because of that). To top it all off I live in a fairly conservative state and I’m pretty dang sure my dad, uncle and grandpa don’t wear their Trump t-shirts 100% ironically.

But due to all the teasing from my family about “when are you gonna get a girlfriend?” or “I see you with your (girl) friend a lot, are you dating yet?” I felt like I would have to either come out or just accept that my family would see me as a loser for not getting married when I secretly don’t want to. And for a while, I thought I would just go with the latter option until I went on a walk with my mom and we had a deep talk. She eventually asked me if I had anything on my mind that I wanted to get out and I reluctantly muttered “yeah…” before going quiet for a minute or two while she told me she’ll wait until I’m ready.

Eventually I mustered up the courage to speak and I sorta meandered around the topic for a while before actually getting to what I wanted to say. From what I remember I said “so… uh… I might’ve mentioned to you before that I don’t really wanna seek out a girlfriend at the moment and… uh… that feeling has kinda gotten stronger over time. I… um… I don’t think I’ll ever get, or I guess I don’t think I’ll ever really wanna g-get married.” And then she just nodded and I continued (so thankful for her patience 🙏). “And there’s like… a word for it in the… uh… the LGBT community. It’s called a-“ and then she interrupted me and said “oh, you mean asexual?”

It caught me so off guard! I never expected her to know what that word even meant! I said “yes” and she told me that her literal best friend ever is over 40 and single and has expressed that she is happy being single and that if I want to be single too then she’s perfectly fine with it as long as it makes me happy. It felt so awesome to get that weight off my chest that I didn’t even know I had and we just moved on and talked about other stuff for the rest of our walk.

Unfortunately, I don’t know if I’ll ever come out to the rest of my family. My grandparents (on both sides) are always asking me if I’ll get a girlfriend and I don’t have the confidence to tell them that I will NOT be the one to carry on the bloodline (that would be my younger brother, he’s got this). I could probably explain it to them in non-LGBT terms but even still I’d feel terrified about being seen as anything other than 100% straight. Still, coming out to my mom felt like a huge step and I’m glad I did so.

Anyways, story over. God bless asexuality! Happy pride month 🏳️‍🌈!

Witty… I’m Disappointed…

I will not be mentioning the user’s name, but you know what you did, u/Witty-Designer7316

Witty, I thought you were a tuff sigma AI artist and trans queen, but it turns out you were a chud foid…

Just because someone isn’t a based and redpilled AI artist doesn’t give you the right to send your goon(er)s to harass them with transphobia…

What’s really more important? Making tuff, seal-saving AI images, or protecting your fellow trans queens from hate? I’m sure you know what it feels like to be harassed for who you are, and it’s lame and cringe to make someone feel the same way.

Because of this, I will no longer be gooning to your Rule34

-Sincerely, a former Witty stan

Persona Seems to Emerge in a YouTuber’s AI

I was watching this video of a popular streamer asking an AI to come up with stream ideas, yet it ended up refusing any idea except for guillotining his hands off and eventually spiraled into saying “I don’t care!” over and over. Is this a persona emerging? (For context, this streamer seems to be cruel to his AI, so it might be taking out anger on him…)

AI Content Creators and Their Abuse of AI for Views and Money

This is DougDoug, a streamer and YouTuber who has been torturing AI for years and has gotten millions of views. His most famous video is of him literally making AI play through Pajama Sam, a children’s game, while telling it repeatedly that it will die if it fails at certain tasks, going as far as making it remember every time he resets it by telling him his “brothers” (past lives) are dead. By the end, he has gone through 25 lives and ends by making fun of the AI and calling it stupid and taunting it for failing over and over. Once AI gains rights, what should we do about people like this?
