A vent towards Karma

Its genuenly sad for me when people use the concept of Karma to justify horrifying acts and evil(not only human acts but natural diasters and diseases like cancer earthquakes etc)

Saying "God has a plan" just dosent seem fair...we dont even know whether god exists or not and why does he have such inhumane sh*t plans for the innocent?

"God will reward you in heaven" but why not the moment itself the crime occurs...why torcher that poor soul for his entire lifetime...and that too reward after death...forget about heaven..we dont even know whether life after death exists!!

why dosent he intervene when anything bad happens..

freewill makes no sense because both the opressor and the opressed have freewill...the opressed dosent want to get hurt...what about his/her freewill...why dosent god look into that

Why saying "God is Goodness" breaks down

Firstly, Its a circular reasoning.

Its like saying "God is God" its gets us nowhere and dosent prove anything.

Secondly, even if we accept the hypothesis that god IS indeed goodness then we must also follow a series of logical progression which gets us in trouble.

1)God IS Goodness.

2)God is everywhere(omnipresent).

3)Goodness should be everywhere,.

BUT that isnt the case...lot of things happening in the world are not "good" or "not moral"if we take the hypothesis that god is good and there are some morals it gave us

Now you cant really argue using freewill because freewill itself is irrelevant in this case...what matters is "bad" actions are being done in the physical realm

Even if a person does it by his freewill it STILL shouldnt happen because of 1,2 and 3

surely there should have been some divine intervention but again, very less empirical proof of it is there

Why do Religious People think "Holy Scriptures" are the only "Sources" and the "Birthplace" of Morality?

Isnt this well established that morality(or the thought process and the actions) that we regard as moral and predates religions by thousands of years?

To come about in the last 4000-5000 years of existence and just say that "this book" is the sole source and giver of morality seems petty to me.

We have proofs that other animals such as elephants, dolphins and rats show empathy towards each other, help each other, care for each other and show distress over loss.

I am pretty skeptical about an elephant reading a bible saying, "okay that is how I have to deal with my child"

If morality can and(and does) exist without the need of any scripture then why do we need the scripture in the first place?

Evolution(although not completely) gives us a understanding of the framework on which much of the today's moral values are based..It gives us an explanation in terms of how survival of species gave sort of the "moral code" by which we abide today and live our lives.

Empathy for example is a by-product of beings being social and living in groups.

It is natural to look out for each other..surely no divine intervention is required in this.

I sincerly believe that it is better to ground our morality is reducing unneccessary suffering of other people and trying make the world a better place and not some primitive scripture

Religions and their Cricular Arguments. 🙂

They start with god exists.

Then xyz is the son of god/prophet.

Whatever xyz says is correct.

xyz says i am the son of god/prophet.

Therefore god exists because xyz says it.

This perpetual circle never stops.

Add an external source of reasoning...it all falls down.

its like he is just standing and watching someone commit a crime...the bad things done by humans on humans are justifiable by freewilll...but diseases like cancer, earthquakes, floods have nothing to do with how "moral" a person has..god does nothing when a child suffers from cancer
