Goldilocks mastectomy

I have a meeting with a plastic surgeon on Wednesday. Im due for a "skin sparing" mastectomy after chemo (Feb/Mar), so the nipple will also be removed on my right breast. At age 60, I'm not sure if I want DMX with implants, SMX with implant and reduction on the other side, or whether to consider the Goldilocks reconstruction. I don't know yet if I need radiation. Is there anyone here who's had the Goldilocks procedure and how do you feel about it now? What questions should I ask on Wednesday?

Tips for improvement, please

Hi all, just moved into this flat. My garden is the size of a balcony so I'd love to hear your tips on how to make it look better until the plants grow - the bamboo panel hides the construction site behind the fence and gives privacy because there will be a public garden with a path a few metres away. It's northwest facing. Thanks!

Start to finish timeline

ER/PR 95%, HER low, IDC 4x2.7cm + satellites, no angio invasion, no lymph node involvement, age 60. Scheduled for 5 months AC-T, then skin saving mastectomy, don't know about radiation therapy yet. How long will all this take? AI is telling me roughly 12 months, plus another 6 months for healing if I also need radiation therapy. Does this sound realistic or is this idealistic or worst case scenario?

Dose dense AC-T - what to expect

Hi all, I'm starting dose dense AC-T in a week or so. AC every two weeks via PICC, followed by paclotaxel every week for 12 weeks. Asking for experiences from anyone who's done this. What can I expect on infusion day, how will I feel, what side effects? How can I prepare for this? Will I feel fine in the second week? How to deal with the PICC - it can't get wet apparently? What about constipation, nausea, bone pain, sleep? I already have osteoarthritis, is it going to get worse?

Post-cancer promises to yourself

I'm at the beginning of this journey but Im hopeful of getting to the other side. I've promised myself I'll take a nice holiday and move to a small bungalow where I'll grow vegetables and have a beautiful garden which ill stare at all day and watch every sunset with a small glass of something.

For those of you also just starting what have you promised yourself to reward yourself for getting through it? For those of you already through it, did you do/get what you promised yourself? What was it?

Ive only got a basic microwave, a kettle and a toaster for the next 3 months (no kitchen). What are your favourite recipes using these appliances?

I can make white sauce, boil things, or cook eggs, but I'm wondering if there are any more sophisticated recipes out there. I'm only looking for savoury recipes.

Peonies and Alchemilla

They all got flattened in the rain so I decided to pick them and enjoy them inside.

Year 5 and finally got it under control

2022, 23, 24, 25 were very difficult, I just couldn't get the water to stay clear, always had algae out of control, and I was ready to give up. But this year (after all the petals and seeds from surrounding trees have finally stopped) it seems to be staying clear. The lilies are loving it.

Should I cook the rest of the roast dinner?

I'm so hungry, I could just eat this and slope off to bed. Or should I control myself and carry on with the rest of it? ETA of dinner about an hour.

Mint jelly

Any excellent, reliable recipes for making really minty mint jelly? I tried a few years ago and got an insipid result - threw it all away. Please send me your tips, thank you!

Green lizard

Hi all, I just spotted this green backed lizard on my rocky steps. I have usually only seen greyish-brown lizards, so the question is - is this another type of lizard or has it changed its colours for breeding or is it a juvenile? It seems to have a much longer tail than the lizards I've seen here before. Non expert here, sorry! I'm in Central Europe.
