Do people actually do first dates at the gym in the uk?

I recently heard a guy say they offered to do a gym date as a first date with someone they met.

Is that common in uk? What's the point? How do you even connect? At the gym I like to listen to music and concentrate on my sets

I just don't like Claude UX. Much prefer Cursor

Had to switch from Cursor to Claude. I prefer Cursor over VSCode and Claude extension. Absolutely don't like using terminal.

Anyone feel the same. So frustrating

Best Juicer for budget of £150?

I previously owned nutribullet 800w Centrifugal juicer. I left this with family as I moved. It was an OK product. I found it created more fluff than juice at times and kinds got tired of having to push down on the unit to crush the fruits/veg.

I'm on the market for a new juicer. Currently looking at AMZCHEF automatic cold press juicer.

Any recommends? Ideally I want something that automatically cuts fruits/veg and just easy to clean

First time buyers - How much mortgage is % of take home? What are you aiming for?

Wanted to post here a bit more and band together true FTBers.

I'm kinda ready to buy but not actively viewing. Kinda sat on the sidelines as I watch the world and the uk economy change.

My goal is to get between 25%-30% of my takehome pay. Ideally I'd would like to have alot of cash spare to enjoy life, go on holidays and still save hence why I aim for 25%-30% of take home. Its really important I don't put too much towards mortgage as I'm also a single buyer.

*About me*

  • Age - 30
  • Deposit - approaching £300k plus (it is large because series of stock bets paying off whilst I lived with my single parent. Stay home as long as you can!)
  • Property price - £500k to £550k.

What % of take home are you guys looking at and whats your thinking behind it?

Curious to hear from recent or upcoming buyers NOT Jane or Jack who bought years ago at 0% rate. But also wanting to Inspire other Ftbers

Make your offer and stick to it if you don't want estate agents to run game on you

Lately I am seeing lots of posts about estate agents tryna squeeze more out of buyers by playing tricks of sudden ghost offers after property on market for many months.

It's simple. Don't play their games..make your offer and keep it final. If they talk about another sudden offer even though the house has been on the market for months then walk away. They are simply trying to create an imaginery bidding war as that's their jobs as they work for themselves and their buyer.

I think the problem in the uk is many of you romanticise homeownership and are led to believe you should overpay where you really shouldn't be. Dont get too attached to the property when viewing. Dont show any emotions to the agent when viewing. If you like property make an offer via email and clearly explain why you have offered the certain price. Keep it clear and concise. This ensures it clearly explained to the seller.

Its a buyers market in full force and its time to take control 😤 otherwise estate agent will take control of you lol

Why half of London's small flats sell at a loss as the crash spreads

Conventional wisdom always says buying better than renting.

I agree this may be the case depending on the location and the property. But people buying flats need to be careful. The idea if starter home might not exist for flats.

Nonetheless, flats are awesome. You just need to be careful to not overpay. Check sold prices, land registry to understand prices, ground rent, service charge

From the article

> Almost half of small flats in the capital - which are classed as either one-beds or studios - are now selling for less than they were bought for, according to Land Registry analysis by property data firm Bricks&Logic

> These losses are not only for flats bought in the last five years, but ten, 15 or even more than 20 years ago.

> And owners of two or three bedroom flats in London are also likely to be in for a shock when they come to sell. So far this year, more than a third of those who own bigger apartments in the capital are accepting a lower price than they paid.

> In the last year alone, the average price of an inner London flat has fallen by 6.2 per cent, according to Land Registry data, wiping around £35,000 off the typical selling price.

Moving from Cursor to Claude. How to get similar setup?

Unfortunately I can no longer use Cursor due to cost.

So I'm now using Claude and trying to get a similar setup i had in Cursor

I've decided to use VScode alongside the Claude code extension for side panel experience. Official Claude docs recommends this is the best approach.

Anything else I can do to try and align Cursor setup/functionality within VSCode?

This is the first England World Cup squad without a Liverpool player since 1986

What has happened to Liverpool. English talents no longer at the club that tuchel respects

But I also wonder if selling quansah was correct move here.

Mo salah: Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play...
