You will never not convince me that Haymitch didn’t fall of the stage because he realized that Katniss was Burdocks daughter

You will never not convince me that Haymitch didn’t fall of the stage because he realized that Katniss was Burdocks daughter

in SOTR haymitch describes seeing Burdock's daughter in the hob from time to time, so I think he would've recognized her name and face by the time she stood on the stage.

And as far as I am aware there are not many people named Everdeen in district 12

Very latest he figured it out by the train

At least this is my theory and i shall live in thy delusions ✌️

Zenitsu’s desire is love, not sex and nobody understands that

The more I interact with the fandom, the more I realize how much people really don’t understand Zenitsu as a character. There are so many misconceptions about him, but one of the biggest is how people mischaracterize his motivation in the series.

People often paint him as a sexual deviant, claiming that his main desire is sex. But that’s never been his main motivatior.

Zenitsu is an orphan who has never known love. He’s desperate for affection, and because of that desperation, he’s vulnerable and easily taken advantage of by others. He was groomed by seven different women for money.

People constantly ask, “How did he let that happen? Why didn’t he just stop it?” Honestly, that commentary is incredibly frustrating because it ignores how grooming works. But that’s beside the point.

The desire for love is a fundamental psychological need, something that very few people can ignore, especially a young child who has never experienced it.

The yearning for love is so strong that he’s willing to try anything and do anything to be loved. Love and belonging are literally a need in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs

When those women took advantage of him, took his money, and then abandoned him, it only reinforced his feelings of being unloved, unwanted, and unworthy.

Hearing those women talk badly about him, when his only desire being to be loved, will never not break my heart.

That’s what makes Gramps so fundamental and so important to his character is that his solution for him isn’t that he needs to be less emotional it’s about learning to accept and love who you are.

Who he is, is reflection of how much pain he’s endured—being unwanted, unloved, and seen as unworthy. That kind of repeated rejection can break a person.

Adding to that, Kaigaku’s criticism only worsens his feelings of unworthiness, reinforcing the idea that he’s not loved or wanted. Zenitsu is someone who doesn’t understand how relationships work or what love really is and that has caused him to behaved inappropriately

That’s not an excuse, it's an explanation.

I see so many people overlook how Zenitsu’s behavior actually changes when he’s called out or explained things to him.

For example, early in the series, Zenitsu was chasing after a girl and asking her to marry him. But after Tanjiro pointed out that he shouldn’t do that, Zenitsu stopped.

That shows he’s capable of learning and changing

He’s not a creep or a pervert.

If he were, he wouldn’t bother to change his behavior or be apologetic when he realizes he’s made someone uncomfortable.

The series constantly reinforces that his core desire is love, not sex. For instance, if his desire with Nezuko was sexual, his dream about her on Mugen Train would have been far more explicit than

*checks notes*

Them just them holding hands and going on a date.

He was propositioned by adult prostitutes, which was uncomfortable (no one talks about this, wonder why). His reaction was to flee.

In the entertainment district arc, he tried to protect the women from being harassed.

Even when women in the entertainment district start talking to him, his comments are about the situation, “beautiful women who make the first move? What do I do?”not sexual desire.

It’s Tengen who makes the sexual commentary, saying “You’re too young for that,” not Zenitsu

Zenitsu’s core motivation is to experience love and be loved, not sex. Even when he was in situations where he could have been sexualized, his reactions and thoughts showed that his primary desire was emotional connection.

In summary, Zenitsu’s main desire for love is genuine and consistent. His actions, reactions, and thoughts throughout the series reinforce that his core longing is for affection, connection and belonging, not sex or sexual desire.

PSA: Respect both interpretations of Qifrey x Olruggio

So lately since the anime has started, and it’s bringing in anime only fans and anime only fans are a certain type of…… group let’s per se

And sometimes they could be lovely and sometimes they can be not lovely

And lately I’m seeing a lot of newer fans and perhaps some older fans, trashing older fans for their interpretations of Qifrey and Olruggio as romantic and saying, “why are people shipping them” and “people shouldn’t ship them” and “people don’t understand the meaning of friendship” , “why don’t people respect, platonic relationships” and going down the line of long annoying comment commentary about them

But I also see some fans who ship them trashing people for having a platonic interpretation of Qifrey and Olruggio

Both of these commentaries are really annoying me and I needed to get this off my chest.

To the commentary of “why are people shipping them?””People shouldn’t ship them people don’t understand the meaning of friendship”, “people don’t understand the meaning of platonic relationships”.

If anyone sees romantic subtext in a deep, complicated bond between two characters, that is a

literary interpretation

It is not a reflection of anyone's view on their real-life friends or family or how they view friendship

People are allowed to find romantic subtext in deep friendships; that is how MANY of the best stories and real-life relationships start.

Side tangent if you aren't using the same 'just friends' argument for every other straight ship that exists in a fandom, then you aren't actually worried about the 'value of friendship nor actual fetishism; you're just uncomfortable with the idea of these characters being queer in a fandom space

Qifrey and Olruggio isn’t the only ship in this fandom there are many other ships in the fandom if you aren’t using the just friends argument for every single other ship in the series, you are not actually worried about the value of friendship

As for Shirahama-sensi, if she didn't want Qifrey and Olruggio viewed in a romantic light, she wouldn't highlight fans interpreting them in that way or repost to show that she doesn’t mind that interpretation

To the “Qifrey and Olruggio can’t be platonic

If anyone chooses to see them as platonic that is again, a literary interpretation, people are allowed to find platonic subtext in close relationships

Romantic is not the only interpretation out there and even if they don’t see it as platonic or romantic, they could just see them as friends. All three of those are valid interpretations.

The bottom line is this, if you choose to see Qifrey and Olruggio as romantic or any other relationship in the series as romantic that is a literary interpretation

There are arguments, and there is subtexts to support both platonic and romantic interpretations

This fandom has space for more than one opinion and more than one interpretation of the text and that’s what fandoms spaces are for it

And this doesn’t just go for Qifrey and Olruggio, this goes for any ship in the fandom

Both platonic and romantic are valid interpretations for the text and we can both respect and accept both interpretations and we can accept and respect, differing opinion opinions of our own

Every time someone calls Qifrey a p*do an angel loses his wings

I am so happy that the anime is bringing so many new fans to the series

But the number of people I see, especially in my Instagram feeds who are suggesting that Qifrey is somehow a p*do or something along those lines because he only has female students

Like I know, the literacy rate of people is declining, but this cannot be the deciding factor for people to claim that someone is like that just because they happen to have female students like I can’t with some people

I am legitimately not joking there are people who literally believe that he somehow is interested in the girls. I’m not joking. I wish I was joking, but I’m not.

Like how can you take one of the sweetest kindest men, and then try and suggest that like my mind hurt hurts from these people

Question why are these two spells forbidden?

I’m wondering why the firework spell was forbidden? It doesn’t appear to violate any of the rules of the pact, such as drawn on a person, heavily alter the environment or affect the human body

It seems fairly innocent

Also why was the fire one banned? Is it because it’s more ancient?

Side tangent I was wondering why coco never questioned the fire spell she learned and why it was different than the one she learned in the book

I feel like there is a lot of misinformation about combustion bending, especially since many people haven’t read the Yangchen novels and don’t know the full history or details about it. I’m going to share some information about combustion bending, including how it works, its mechanics, and its history.

A common myth I’ve seen in the fandom is that you have to be born with the ability to combustion bend, that it’s a genetic trait, or that only a rare few are blessed with it. This is actually not true. Some firebenders may be born with a natural affinity for combustion bending, but it is not an inherited skill.

Instead, combustion benders are effectively made through specialized training programs.

However, this training is brutal, and only a few firebenders are able to master the skill. It requires years of dedicated training and meditation.

I believe the myth that it’s a genetic ability comes from the third eye mark. The third eye mark is a tattoo, not a birthmark, and it serves as a critical focus point for accuracy and efficiency. The tattoo is placed over the Third Eye Chakra (or Ajna chakra) and acts as the exit point for the chi-powered beam.

The third eye chakra is the sixth primary chakra, located in the brain, directly behind the spot between the eyebrows. When balanced, it grants strong intuition, clarity, and deep self-awareness. Blockages can lead to mental fog, overthinking, headaches, and difficulty focusing.

The first combustion benders during Yangchen’s time did not have the third eye tattoo, but it took much longer for them to use combustion bending.

How does it work?

Combustion bending works by channeling chi through the forehead, superheating the surrounding air and producing a beam of explosive energy capable of immense damage at both short and long ranges.

Once charged, the attack cannot be undone, and it must be released—unlike other bending techniques. It requires a clear and uninterrupted chi flow, as even slight disruptions can cause catastrophic malfunctions. If someone who has not mastered the skill attempts to use it, the result is almost always fatal. For example, a young boy who was part of the project tried to use it on Yangchen and ended up killing himself and her Sky Bison. The boy was around 13 years old at the time.

How were combustion benders created?

Combustion benders were unintentionally created during a project in Yangchen’s time called the Unanimity Project. The project was an attempt by the Shang Cities to break free from the formal authority of the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Water Tribes by trying to create human weapons.

The project involved many dangerous and inhumane experiments on both benders and non-benders, hoping to turn them into living weapons. One experiment targeted nonbenders, who were forced to fight endlessly in unarmed duels, striking crucial points shown on acupuncture maps. Through brutal trial-and-error, some of these nonbenders began to develop a kind of chi-blocking ability.

Those who failed the experiments were taken away by guards and were tortured to death to learn more about the human body

For firebenders, the experiment involved long periods underwater. They were supposed to firebend not to produce flames but to generate great pressure in a single burst. Ultimately, the firebenders were chained and forced to stay underwater until they either drowned or could use mental pressure techniques to control their powers.

The project only produced three combustion benders and was considered the crown jewel of the experiments.

The Shang planned to demonstrate their power to force the armies and governments of all sovereign nations to submit. However, their plans ultimately failed when Avatar Yangchen intervened, stopping them. The incident was then covered up.
