Who else out there enjoys the kettle corn at the park?

The last few years my crew has been doing season passes and our routine is to always stop at the kettle corn stand opposite the character photo op when we arrive at the park. It’s a nice way to start the day. So, obviously we must take advantage of the popcorn refill deal. Well the deal is dead folks and I think it’s safe to say it is a flat out scam.

Previously, the refill was a small size popcorn, which makes sense. Purchase the item at an up-charge now in exchange for the promise that you can buy it at a discount in the future. It’s a brilliant way to get us to buy another trinket, and incentive for us to spend more in the future.

Today, the premium you paid upfront promises you an item that appears to be half the size of the initial purchase.

Basically, you used to get a small sized bag as a refill and now you get (what appears to be) half as much product. This is the definition of a scam.

Just curious if anyone has noticed any other scams this year? I heard that someone recent tried to get a bandaid from first aid staff and were told they could purchase them from a vending machine, but that’s just anecdotal.

FYI - I will come back to this post soon with official weights of the bags. It just sucks as someone who loves the park because of the memories I’m making with my kids, but it’s just hard to not feel taken advantage of in this situation. I get that it’s a very nice amusement park and their goal is to make money, but I just can’t understand how the folks in leadership can justify to themselves PERSONALLY this type of manipulation to increase the profit margin on POPCORN.

Ps, it was really cool this afternoon when JR, Hersh, and Kiss were all together for the photo op on the way out of the park. That was awesome!
