a female friend asked to call him

My husband has a female friend from way back. She lives far away, and they text sometimes. Once he said he used to have a crush on her. I've always felt a bit uncomfortable about this friend -- I haven't kept up with any guy friends since getting married.

He said recently she asked if they could call, to catch up. I don't think they do this much. I'm trying to stay on my paper and give it no oxygen. I haven't said anything. I don't like it.

Any advice or support welcome!

Beyond Ouch

I'm wondering how you all manage feelings of despair, neglect, or dysphoria when it isn't an "Ouch" moment. When it's something he doesn't do rather than something he said.

Every once in a while I deal with deeply negative, abandoned feelings, often when he is busy or in a silent mood. The feelings are so deep, I try LD methods like gratitude and still can't shake them off. Recently I 'relapsed' and said/did things, not Fun-and-Light things if you know what I mean.

Then I feel silly about it all later. But in the moment, I can't refocus because it feels so inauthentic, like I'm hurting silently and can't tell him. And I swear my marriage flashes before my eyes and feels so dire even though we are happy like 80% of the time.

Have you gone through this? How to refocus?

Life lessons not working (pets)

I think my first post ever on this sub was about his pets, and here we are again

We moved in and got married! I posted previously about problems I anticipated living with his pets, and am happy to say we're now down to one pet. However, that pet is getting older and a certain arrangement he has for it is no longer working out.

It's hard for me to watch because I have a solution that I think would make life a LOT easier for both us and the pet. My husband indicated he doesn't want to try that solution. So I stated it as a desire ("I'd love to try this new thing, or find something that works"), and relinquished control for a while, repeating, "Life lessons not wife lessons".

Well there have sure been "life lessons". I won't go too much into detail. And he still hasn't brought up my solution or any solutions of his own. How do I tell him I'm ready to find a solution for real and be past this problem?

Adding original audio to single photo

I am not good at Instagram :/

I want to add a single photo with about 15 seconds of music. The music is not in the Instagram library or any other saved reels. Anyone know a good way to go about this?

I tried recording a reel for the audio only, but Instagram said I could only re-use that audio if my account was both public, and the reel was shared with all followers. I don't want to do that and look silly. Please help

Reach out to family member who we couldn't invite?

Hi! We're 1 week out.

We couldn't invite my aunt, because she and her husband (my uncle by blood) divorced recently. My uncle and several of their kids are coming to the wedding. However my aunt has always been so caring and loved staying up-to-date with our lives. Is there a something I can say to tell her we're getting married and not exclude her totally? I feel the need to reach out but maybe that's misguided?
