DUG shoppers
Hi shoppers, I work at a Jewel Osco and my store dorector claims that im cheating the acupick system by not scanning things in right away. The way that I understand picks per hour to be calculated is total items picked divided by the amount of pick hours. For instance, 393 items picked in 4.2 pick hours is 93 picks per hour.
The store directors claim is that by scanning in multiple items at once, like collecting all the frozen items, then scanning them in it raises my picks per hour exponentially. But that wouldnt make sense given my picks per hour divided my pick hours is usually between 80 and 90. Because of his belief he says i cant use a basket while im picking even though when i do use a basket I usually average 100-110 pph.
How are picks per hour calculated?
How do I address this with him?
Quite honestly, it makes it much easier on my to use a basket as I usually collect multiple items at once anyways. It also doesnt make sense that scanning in multiple different items at once would affect my pph any different than scanning in multiple of the same item. For instance, when you scan a weight tag for apples, you input the amount of apples you are picking. Following his logic that would make my picks per hour peak. Additionally, there are people at my store who average 90-100 pph without a basket, so I dont understand what makes my pph so unbelievable.
Am I crazy?
Is there some sort of proof I can show him?
