Dealership near me has an unsold 2025 listed for MSRP plus doc fee.

I stopped and asked what kind of deal they would do on it, and they said since they stopped production it is rare to find one brand new, so they weren't willing to back off the price at all.

I just wonder how long they will keep it before giving up and marking it down.

Changes in interest rate and minimum payment

Long story short, I carry a large balance on a few different credit cards, but have been hammering away at them over the last year or so by paying the minimum on everything, and then throwing all the extra at the smallest balance. Discover is unique in the way they calculate their minimum payment as 2% of the total balance, rather than most that do the interest plus 1% of the balance. Discover also has the lowest APR of all of my cards.

I just got my notice from Capital One of the switch coming up in October, I read through the FAQ's and on whether interest rates and minimum payments would change it just said it depends on the individual card holder. I was curious if anybody that had been switched yet could tell me if their interest or minimum payment calculation has changed.

Company has finally agreed to expand accounting department, by moving me down the ladder.

I have worked at my company for about 15 years, and we have grown from about $10 mil in revenue to around $100 mil. The entire time I have been the sole accountant, responsible for every single thing, including payroll, A/P, A/R, end of month closing, reporting the financials at all of the company meetings, forecasting and budgeting, literally every single thing that would fall under accounting/ finance has been my responsibility.

I have begged for the last five years to hire another accountant to be under me to share some of the responsibilities because I am drowning in the workload.

Got word today that they are hiring for a CFO, a Controller, and a Senior Accountant. I asked where that left me, and they said they would keep my title as "Accountant", but based on my past performance they wanted somebody else to fill these roles. Mind you, if my performance has been below expectations it is only because I have been doing the work of 4-5 people.

I'm not sure where to go from here, but I think it is time to jump companies.

How do I find out about charges from Hilton?

We just went on vacation and stayed at a few different Hilton properties, which I paid for in advance. I checked in to all properties with my AMEX Hilton Honors card, which has a $1,000 credit limit, so it should be enough to cover any deposits.

The main place we stayed required a $200 deposit, which I paid with the card, and it showed up like normal. A few days after we checked in I got a notification that my card declined, and Hilton tried to charge me over $1,400. A few days later they tried to charge $1,200 and some change. I'm trying to figure out if my card was compromised, or if this is a normal Hilton thing to do massive preauths?

Meta took away the ability to stop them from tracking you across the web.

This must have been the reason for their outage this morning.

Is it worth it to get CPA to work in private industry?

I’ve been working in private industry for about ten years now, and am looking to move up the career ladder. Is it worth it to get a CPA if I have no plans on ever working in public accounting? Or is there another license that could be more useful?
