Toxic and other Kannada and Telagu movies are the epitome of misogyny. What do you guys think?

Saw Yash's Toxic trailer today and I was gutted to see the misogyny. I've realized that these film industries are obsessed with hyper- sexualizing women and using them as props to gain the attention of their rabid fans. It's just crazy that these industries are not called out as much as Bollywood. I'm not saying Bollywood is not patriarchal but it's scrutinized more than other industries.

Also I'm ashamed of the women who act in these movies just to make bucks and then talk about women empowerment and feminism. As someone living abroad I feel ashamed to even recognize these movies from my country. Yikes.

Your disability shouldn't give you a pass to be an AH.

I say this as someone who cares about disability rights, not against them. Having a disability is hard. It comes with real barriers, real pain, and real exhaustion that able bodied people often don't understand. That deserves patience and accommodation.

But somewhere along the way, "be understanding of disabled people" turned into "disabled people can treat others however they want and it's off limits to criticize." I've seen people snap at retail workers, talk down to friends trying to help, and dismiss any pushback with "well you don't know what it's like." Sometimes that's true. It's still not an excuse to be cruel.

Compassion has to go both ways. Expecting patience from others while giving none in return isn't advocacy, it's just using a diagnosis as a shield. Most disabled people I know don't do this, and honestly they're often the first to call it out too, because it makes things harder for everyone else navigating the same struggles with basic decency intact.

Kindness isn't conditional on ability. It shouldn't be conditional on disability either.

Desi bling highlights everything that is wrong with the society. Does anybody else found it triggering???

Women were spineless and the men could be worshipped if there was a religion called misogyny.

I would be rather be homeless than to live like Binda/Pam/Iryna to afford a lifestyle. What a sh#t show.
