Currently there isn't much to do in the endgame of STO except chase higher DPS/space barbie and TFOs don't really reward anything too interesting. Just some dil, reputation marks, and crafting components. I think adding special rewards with a low drop chance to each TFO would give players a real incentive to continue playing them. They could be anything from costumes, hairstyles, and non-combat pets to weapons and equipment with unique effects. Adding a unique reward to each individual TFO would obviously take a lot of time and effort but I think it'd be worth it to encourage players to not just run the same ones over and over, plus they could be trickled out over time where a couple of TFOs get rewards each update. It would also be nice if there was a free ship as a reward for completing an extreme number of TFOs in total. It's not super useful these days but the free ambassador class from the temporal ambassador mission is still the most memorable reward in STO for me. I'd absolutely spend a ton of time in TFOs if it meant I could eventually get another free ship, even if it isn't that good.

Since KE was added, I've felt the story goes by far too quickly, especially the provinces adrift portion. You never really get a chance to appreciate the rough state they're in because you very quickly connect to the Queendom. There's a good break point between when the expedition starts building the infrastructure around the Sanctuary of Darkness gate and when Boso Ta asks you to help with investigating the Great Reef Nebula. I think fully constructing the shipyard would be a good prerequisite for continuing the story so that the player gets to spend more time with the disconnected Provinces Adrift.
