Can advisor manually de-register me?

So I’m currently registered in a section of comm 320 that I originally enrolled in because it worked with my schedule, but my schedule changed and another section would work much better for me. I’m currently waitlisted for that section, but I was told I won’t be able to enroll if a spot opens because I’m still registered in my current section.

The issue is that I can’t drop my current section without also dropping comm 401 because it’s a co-requisite, and if I drop that class/section, I won’t be able to get back in because there’s already a waitlist. I emailed them asking if they can manually deregister me from my current section while keeping me enrolled in the co-requisite. Do you guys think they’ll do this? Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Accidental Removal from waitlist

I feel so incredibly stupid and numb at the same time. I registered to a waitlist since May and was initially at 9/10. I finally made it to the 1st position, making it a guarantee for me to be admitted to the class by September. Keep in mind that this early morning class out of the five offered for the semester is the only that has a wait list, because that’s the only prof with positive reviews. Also, the waitlist only really started moving in July.

Anyway, yesterday, Concordia’s registration is so fucked up that the system processed a course swap instead of a dual enrolment, which moved me back to the sixth position on the waitlist. Is there anything that a teacher/advisor/registrar can do? If I don’t get in, I’ll lose it frl.

Comm 309 - John K

I currently have the weeklies for from John k. So for those who have taken John K for 309, were you able to solely study his material and be prepared enough for the exams? Or did you need to also study using the prof’s material?

Im taking comm 309 during summer II (6weeks) and was wondering who was the best tutor and had the most accurate mock exams?

Studying only Matthew’s mocks + practice problems enough?

The comm 305 past midterms were given with the solutions only, formatted horribly and are many years old. So do you think only using Matthew’s materials would be enough?

Should I switch from Business Technology Managemnt to Finance?

After seriously looking into internships this year, I realized that my interests, and the direction the job market seems to be moving toward, align more closely with careers in finance. Since I’ve only completed two BTM courses so far, I’ve been considering switching my major to Finance, as it better matches the career path I’m now interested in pursuing (wealth management, financial analysis, etc.).

That said, I’m still a bit hesitant for two main reasons.

First, I genuinely dislike studying math. It’s actually one of the main reasons why I originally chose not to go into Finance, since I knew it would involve more math-related courses. However, I’m still willing to put in the extra effort if the difficulty is manageable. So for those who are currently in Finance or have completed the program: do most of the required specialty courses involve a lot of math? If not, roughly how many do? And for the ones that do, how difficult would you say the math is, and what classes would you compare it to?

My second concern is that switching majors would likely delay my graduation by about one to two semesters. Obviously, if the change would significantly improve my long-term career opportunities, then it could absolutely be worth it. But from your experience, do you think making the switch would be worth the extra time?

Intact Insurance Referral

I have a friend that wants to refer me, but he’s an intern and doesn’t know all the ins and out yet (just started). He wanted to refer me, but the system blocked him because I already applied to the positions he was going to refer me into. So for those who work at intact, is there any other workaround? Or I really have to withdraw and reapply with my friend’s link?

For anyone who’s applied for a credit overload for a semester, how long did it take for it to get approved? Starting from when you first sent in the form.

I looked over at my transcript and saw that the MATH 209 course I took two years ago doesn’t count towards my gpa and has erem code next to it. What’s crazy, is that I never repeated the course and I never was exempted from it. Clearly this is an error, but surprised that such a mistake could happen. I’m assuming I have to contact academic advising, but are they closed? Is that the right department to speak to?

I was working at both Apple and Nintendo for three years. Both as specialists (technical - Apple, sales - Nintendo). I didn’t tell anyone about the job, as I was scared that it could’ve been a potential conflict and they would fire me. I want to display my Nintendo work on my LinkedIn, but I’m scared of Apple management finding out. Considering that I no longer work at Nintendo, can management still attempt to investigate and potentially fire me due to the business conflict in the past?

If all the seats have been taken in a particular section of a course, can you ask admissions to squeeze you in? Or this only applies if let’s say all the sections for the course are full

I’ve been dealing with minimal discharge from penile urethra. I’ve done multiple tests and they’ve all came back negative. Trich, chlamydia, gonorrhea, urine analysis etc. I tested negative for mycoplasma as well, but something to note that I had taken doxycycline and azithromycin shortly prior to testing for it. I’m really sure that it is that, but the tests are indicating otherwise. The doctor suggests me to wait 3-4 weeks and to retest for everything, as it could be that the bacterial load has greatly reduced, making detection difficult/inpossible. But there are some people who’ve done multiple treatments and test positive for mycoplasma on this sub, so what are the chances that it’s the case for me? What are your thoughts/advice?

The 305 course is condensed to 6 weeks I believe, so I was wondering for those who took it in the summer, how did you guys study? And what tutors were helpful/worth it?
