9800x3D Artic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 TEMPS - HELP
Swapped from NZXT Kraken 360 to Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 — temps seem higher and louder? Need help
I recently swapped my NZXT Kraken 360 for an ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 on a Ryzen 7 9800X3D build, and I’m a bit confused by the results.
With the Kraken, my CPU felt like it ran cooler and the system was noticeably quieter. Now with the Arctic, I’m seeing higher temps and more noise even though I expected better performance.
Current behavior:
Idle: ~40°C
Gaming (Arc Raiders): ~75–80°C average
Peaks up to ~83°C
Fans/pump are noticeably louder than before
What I’ve already checked:
Pump is running (tried CPU_FAN / CPU_OPT header setup)
Fans are spinning and ramping correctly
Mounting seems secure
Fresh install after swap
My question is:
Is this normal behavior for the Arctic Liquid Freezer III, or did I likely mess up mounting / pump curve / BIOS settings?
It honestly felt like the Kraken was “cooler” even if it might’ve just been quieter or smoothing spikes.
If anyone has experience with this combo or Ryzen X3D chips, what should I adjust first? Pump speed, fan curves, or remount?
