Scratch Coat Questions

We applied adhered veneer poly mortar to secured metal lath, but feeling we didn't make our scratch coat deep enough.

I've noticed there are small cracks in the dried mortar too. Do we need to redo the wall or add more mortar on top?

Refinishing Help

I found this cabinet on marketplace. It had been sitting on someone's covered porch for a while.

It has some dings and missing paint. I had a thought to fill the larger dings with an abalone shell overlay. I'm on the fence about that, but more curious how I can protect the piece.

The inside is black lacquer, but the outside has lost the sheen. What can I use to shine and protect it that will not harm the existing carved paintings?

Any thoughts on how to clean the hardware is greatly appreciated too!

Fence over utility box

I am relatively certain this is not possible, but want to see if anybody else has done this.

We want to build a 3 ft. fence (yellow lines) to prevent folks from crossing over the yard.

The fence would have removable panels and would cross over the top third of the water utility box. The actual utility box is still accessible for normal readings, but if the utility company needed access for a project, we would need to remove the panels.

Is this a good idea or am I asking for more trouble than it's worth?

Is it peri?

The past two years my body has shown signs of perimenopause, but sometimes I don't know what's actually happening because symtpoms overlap with other recent diagnoses.

Neurospicy

EBV

Insulin Resistance

PMOS

Suspected MCAS

POTS

I've been treating everything except the MCAS for 8 months. Some things are better, but I was still experiencing rage, hair fallout, low sex drive, waking up at 3am, weight gain, and my body ached all the time.

My dr. keeps saying I am too young to be in peri, but I'm not sure they're right, so I booked an appointment thru Midi.

Midi prescribed oral progesterone and estradiol. I've been on the meds for 5 weeks, and my sex drive has made a reappearance, my body doesn't hurt like it did, and I sleep more soundly. I have noticed I am more snappy--like I don't have patience.

I feel like these are signs something is working, and am curious what others experiences are with oral estradiol and progesterone.

What does overwhelm look like for you?

I've been trying so hard to understand me after my diagnoses. I do not have a lot of family/friend support outside of my partner- sometimes I feel a lot of shame around this.

My job is a large source of stress and I work extra hours to keep up. I keep telling myself once I complete "xyz" project it will get better and I can start to balance my life, but I've realized recently that time never comes.

I am shocked and upset that I can't pull myself out of this cycle and set boundaries even with some of the tools and language that I've been practicing. When I talk to my partner about work overwhelm, I can tell he is trying to be supportive, but we also have the same conversation every week and I know it is frustrating.

Tonight the overwhelm hit extra hard and I think am just trying to talk it out and comfort myself.

How do you process what overwhelms you?
