Aside from being disgusting, would showering here regularly be bad for you?

I was eating salmon then noticed this white thing. It breaks when pulled apart. Is it a work and if so, is this normal/ safe to eat?

I know these aren’t great pictures but it was so tiny this is the best i could get.
I got 16 bites that looked very much like bedbugs about a week ago after coming back from a cottage but nothing since.
