Hey everyone, I am posting this as a public call-out regarding an incident I was involved in on August 15, 2026.

I received a tip that SCJ was holding an internal event exclusively for members at Anaheim High School in California. Since I used to be a student at a learning center in Fullerton for a couple months, I know the area well. SCJ frequently operates in Anaheim and Fullerton in Orange County and actively recruits on local college campuses. A regional recruiter I spoke with claimed they now only recruit through friends and family and that they no longer hide their affiliation with SCJ. I do not buy that for a second.

Anyway, I parked my car and walked over with a friend who is also aware of SCJ's deceptive practices. The event was on private property, so we stayed on the public sidewalk, which is completely legal. More on that later. Almost immediately, a recruiter recognized me. We exchanged pleasantries, asking about each other and what was happening at the event, but then I steered the conversation toward Lee Man Hee's court cases.

I made my stance clear. I believe he is a fraud, using lower-level members to funnel donor money back to Korea to manipulate politics and control people. His response was basically that we would see how the court plays out. Then he joked that if Lee actually goes to jail, he would buy me and my friend a tomahawk steak, claiming he is a man of his word. We even shook on it. Somehow, I doubt that steak is coming.

I also told him that to be a solid recruiter, you need swagger and charm, which is why Lee is so effective at building SCJ. My friend then asked if Lee will live forever physically. The recruiter said yes, that is what he truly believes. I am in my early 20s; he is in his 30s. The fact that he thinks Lee will somehow bypass basic biology is honestly baffling. I am guessing if Lee's body dies, he will pivot to some physical spirit lives on narrative, but we will cross that bridge when we get there.

I then politely asked to speak with people closer to my age to ask them about their involvement and beliefs. He refused. That tells you everything. If you cannot let your members speak for themselves, you clearly lack confidence in what you are teaching.

Shortly after, two women in their early 20s walked past on the same sidewalk. I tried to speak with them, and they literally ran away.

For context, I am the same guy who previously went to my old center with a loudspeaker to warn people that they were being recruited by SCJ without full disclosure. They know me well.

While we were standing on the sidewalk, a woman in her 40s told us she had called the Anaheim Police and that they would come if we did not leave. Again, we were on a public sidewalk. We had every right to be there. I had a conference to attend later, so we started walking away. The recruiter took my number. He invited me to tour their temple on Redgum Street and said he would text me to set it up. Still no text, by the way.

Before we left, he tried to intimidate me, claiming I had a police record and saying, "We do not want to do this." He told me to check my criminal history with Fullerton and Anaheim.

So I did. I went to the Anaheim station with my friend and asked for a full background check and to see if I was trespassed from any of their buildings. The result was completely clean. Nothing. I explained the situation to the deputy, and after checking with his supervisor, he confirmed that I have a constitutionally protected right to protest on public sidewalks as long as I am not blocking traffic or people.

Welcome to America, SCJ. Korean values do not override our constitutional freedoms.

Now here is the crazy part. Those two girls who ran away showed up at the police station while I was still talking to the deputy. I asked them if they believed in the First Amendment, and the police told me to step back and move to another window. I complied. I am not sure if they came to file a report or just ask what could be done about me, but the answer was clearly nothing.

SCJ loves playing the victim and running to the police over someone exercising their protected rights. Absolutely hilarious.

I also went to Fullerton PD and ran a full background check there. Clean again. They even gave me a printed copy, which I will share here.

A group that lies about who they are should not surprise anyone when they lie about someone having a record.

I need a no bullshit analysis on if it’s worth applying and actually starting from the bottom as a Seasonal Retail Specialist with this company. I am on interview 2 for a location in Orange County CA and honestly if someone is working at a store dm me yours and I can verify privately if it’s the one I applied to and let me know if you think it’s good working there or not.

I’m coming from another well recognized company that has high standards like Apple and is loved by its employees and customers.

Should I make the switch guys? Or should I avoid this all together? I’m socially outgoing and like talking to people but let me know your honest thoughts do not sugarcoat anything.

Do they have a secret handshake / certain outfit / code they use to recognize each other?

I need some outside perspective on this situation because I feel like I'm losing my mind. This is going to be long, but the context matters.

I accidentally joined a Bible study that turned out to be a cult. I was in the intro class for about seven weeks before I did my research, talked to some pastors, and realized it was a scam. I got out. A week later, I saw a girl at the gym who was in the same cult class. I told her the truth about what I had found, and she left immediately. She blocked all the cult members on the spot, asked for my number, and we started talking.

We went on four dates over about three weeks. We did coffee, a beach hangout where she almost got trapped under a wave and I grabbed her hand to pull her out, another beach hangout, and then a hike to a scenic viewpoint where we watched the sunset and stayed for over an hour just talking. By date three we had already agreed on politics, religion, kids, and money. She admitted she had made a private TikTok documentary about me from day one, about how she spotted me at the gym, thought I was tall and handsome, and hoped things would work out. She told me she had not had a crush in a long time. She also asked if I had told my parents about her, and I said I had mentioned I was seeing someone but had not gone into detail yet. I have met her mom in passing.

At the end of the hike, I used a line and said that at least one good thing came out of that cult. She played dumb and asked what I meant, so I told her to come here, grabbed her chin, and kissed her. She kissed back immediately. I went for round two and got the same response. After that, she put my hand on her leg, and we stayed close for about thirty minutes. The next day she texted me first and said she had a fun time, as always. We kept talking for a few days after that. She sent me a screenshot of my social media and admitted she had gone through my whole page and liked my content. Then she told me she was on her period and having an emotional week. After that, the replies started slowing down.

Last Tuesday I sent her a playful text about coming to her workplace, a local grocery store. She replied and said she was sorry she had been busy with birthday stuff. She also mentioned that her coworkers are weird about being on camera and that they would yell at customers if anyone filmed. I responded with a light joke about keeping the camera away and asked what she ended up doing for her birthday. That was Tuesday at 12:46 PM. It is now Thursday and she has not replied. We have been hanging out every Thursday for three weeks straight, and today is Thursday. She knows the pattern, but she is staying silent.

My questions are simple. Was the busy excuse total lies or truth? Why would a girl who made a documentary about me, left a cult for me, and kissed me back without hesitation pull back and ghost like this? Is it worth sending one final check-in text or should I just take the hint and move on? And if she does come back, should I even entertain it?

I know the story sounds insane, but I promise it is all true. I am just trying to figure out if I am being ghosted or if she is just overwhelmed and needs space.

TL;DR: Met a girl in a cult. Got her out. Dated for a month. Insane chemistry. Kissed at sunset. She made a documentary about me. Now she is ghosting after saying she was busy with birthday stuff. It has been over forty-eight hours of silence. What do I do?
