What is his major malfunction?!?!

Hey all! Kinda new to Nepenthes (but I have absolutely fallen in love with them) and started my collection from Etsy and Ebay about 18 months ago and moved up to a few more expensive varieties from known sellers since. Currently housing 13, on the lanai (full sun on partly cloudy days and a bit shaded on full sun days) on the western side of the house, in 9b central Florida. Gets lots of light and plenty of water, even some occasional bloodworms since they don’t really have insects to catch.

Everyone seems to be doing well and giving me pitchers. Miranda decided to start putting hers out as well (I think she was just a bit younger clipping and took time to come around) and my newest, from Cook’s (right side of pic 4), was potted less than a month ago and is well rooted and putting out a new leaf already.

One stubborn little guy seems to be putting out wonky short leaves and not a single pitcher (pic 7). Any idea what is his malfunction (or mine)?? I don’t see any bugs (and I would assume everyone else would have them since they sit on a tray together), no root rot, moss is good… am I missing something???

Complete Novice Stupid Mistake… Advice please

Hey all! Looking for some words of I am overreacting or the brutal truth that I killed my collection.

Decided to spray my plants today even though I wasn’t really feeling up to it, and the universe now let me know I should have just waited until tomorrow.

Spray all 4 trays, look over on the porch and realize I was using the Horticultural Spray oil opposed to BioAdvanced 3 - in - 1. Quickly take all the plants out of the water trays, flush them, wash the water trays out, flush one more time, and refill with the last of my rainwater.

I realize the best solution would be to get them out of the moss and into new moss but I just don’t have that energy or resources available tonight.

Did I kill them or they have a chance of not being affected too bad???

Sarracenia Advice Please

Good morning all! This is my first “real” full season with Sarracenia. I have quite a few and looking at all the beautiful bouquets everyone has, it makes me wonder what I am doing wrong. Don’t get me wrong, I have some beauties (pic 1 and 2); however seems like so many have burnt lids. I noticed I do have a little something going on with them (pics 3 - 5). I have sprayed with BioAdvanced 3-in-1 several times throughout the season, but nothing on a schedule. Can anyone provide any advice?

I am located in 9b Florida and house them outdoors in water trays, which stay pretty full at all times. I do have them raised on a black table (maybe the water is getting to hot throughout the day in the 7th layer of hell aka Central Florida) and do complete water changes with collected rain/mineral free water weekly, when we lack rain.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Heliamphora Questions

I have been wanting a Sun Pitcher for quite some time and decided to go a bit crazy and buy 4 (one seller gave me a bonus for free, so 5). I love in 9b Central Florida and plan to house them indoors. I see a lot of pics where people don’t have them in a terrarium, but rather just on the shelf. I am reading mixed information about the % of humidity they require, indoors even the care sheet I got with them from one seller doesn’t specify to put in a terrarium and just says should be 60 - 85% humidity. Any suggestions?

Hitchhikers(?)

Good morning! I got this Ventricosa x sibuyanensis from Cali Carnivores and noticed a few hitchhikers. I know one is a Sundew (looks different than my other 2 varieties of sundews) but these other 2 are a mystery to me. Not sure if they are seeds that may have blew from other (non-carnivorous plants) or something that was hidden and popped from the moss.

Beginner Question

Hey All! Kinda new to Nepenthes (going on a little over a year now since I got my first) and I currently have the following:

Nepenthes Ventricosa “Orange” x Dubia
Nepenthes Ventricosa x Sibuyanensis
Nepenthes Spathulata x Spectabilis
Nepenthes Spathulata x Dubia
Nepenthes Petiolata x Talangensis
Nepenthes Spectabilis x Veitchii
Nepenthes Dyeriana
Nepenthes Lady Luck
Nepenthes Ventricosa (x2)
Nepenthes Miranda
Nepenthes lemon Alta
Nepenthes Singalana x Hamata

I will be honest and say I don’t really know the difference between low, mid, and high-land Nepenthes, but all of the ones I have seem to be doing very well. Seems like my Miranda is the only one that is putting out new leaves but no new pitchers. Does she need different care? Do any of the ones I have require “different” care than the others?

I am located in 9b Florida and they currently live in a shaded but bright part of my lanai

Pothos Pole

Hey yall! Pretty new to Pothos but I had a HUGE Golden Pothos growing naturally in my old yard. When I bought my house and moved a took 1 clipping and she grew massively in the past year. I added Neon and Global Green Pothos clippings as well as a 3rd unknown (the super white/light yellowish with less green (pic 5), if anyone can identify) and they seem to be pretty happy 😊

Ping Seeds???

Hello fellow plant lovers! I was wondering if anyone knew where to procure ping seeds from. Nothing special, per se, just wanting to try to grow some from seed. Appreciate any advice/suggestions.

Sharing my collection 😊

May 7, 2025 I bought my “start kit” of carnivorous plants, a 3 pack of Sarracenia from Mossy Pots Nursery. Who would have known that my “collection” would expand to what it is today! From Big Box store VFT rescues and Etsy “rough” nepenthes to beautiful plants from Cali Carnivores and 21 “hitchhiker” sundews and baby VFT from Hunterflytrap. The only thing I am missing is an Australian Pitcher Plant or two and a few Cobra Lily for my collection to be complete.

Wasn’t sure I was doing right by her but walked out back this evening and found the start of a flower 🥹 Safe to say she is happy?

What to do with this disaster…

I started this Monstera Adansonii from a single leaf just over a year and a half ago. She has pulled thru spider mites and white flies and I am left with “this”… I have leaves starting to come out of the vine that lost leaves, and just keep wrapping her around her moss pole. Other than that”chop and prop” what can I do with her to maybe have her thrive a bit more?

What do I do with her now????

I started this monster from a single leaf I took from the house I lived in, exactly 1 year ago today. The issue I have is I don’t really know what to do with this monstrosity at this point… I have her on a moss pole and just keep wrapping the vines but at what point so I have to do something else with her, and what would that something else be???

I have successfully moved everything outside to brighter light and more “fresh Florida air” and out of the ziplocks. I plan to repot my seedlings as the container I sowed them in does not have drain holes. Planning to individually pot, I think. Which style of pot would be sufficient (are terracotta or glazed pot even options?) for them? Also, Jack’s Gritty Mix a good choice for the substrate? Thanks in advance!

First summer with these guys and the roots are going wild. They were all seedlings when I bought them and made it through winter with them. Do I cut back the roots or repot and put some screening on the bottom of the pot to avoid roots wandering? Thanks in advance!

I sowed about 90 seeds September 14, 2025 and I feel like something is off. My seedlings are just over 7 months old and I feel like they should be a bit bigger(?). I was thinking of introducing them to air and more light here soon (around 9 months) but I feel like I missed my opportunity of acclimating them outdoors, as summer is quickly approaching and hell hot in 9b Florida is right around the corner. We are looking at hitting the 90s this weeks. I do have a covered lanai, which gets afternoon shaded sun. Would this be a good spot to acclimate them or should I start inside? I feel like they are growing a bit slow as they are indoors and it stays around 78 - 80, dropping to 72 at night. Should I poke holes in the bags and slowing put them outdoors or the temps change throughout the day would be too drastic?

Thanks for any advice!
