Long shot but anyone have Red Envelope from Momo and willing to part with it?

I've been waiting 6 months for her to bring it back, but I think at this point it most likely won't be 😭

It's pretty much my favorite slime hands down. I'm obsessed with the new money smell and the vibrant red plus the thick bubble pops. Unfortunately I've killed the one I have. Anyone willing to sell theirs?

Exhausted all my options for getting out of the Reserve early, not sure what else to do except stop showing up

Won't even touch on every issue I've had because otherwise this would be 20 pages long, but essentially constant issues with pay, my promotion was fucked up twice, promises of orders that then get rescinded, I was fired from my civilian job (USERRA protections are a JOKE, they just give another reason on paper even though it was clearly the constant drilling), no one in the unit can be bothered to lift a finger when I talk to them but go out of their way to move heaven and earth for their favorites, more time away from family than in AD, general mental health issues from all the above and burnout, etc.

It's not for me. All of the BS with none of the AD benefits. I already did four active and have an honorable from that. My contract is until 2029.

Talked to my unit about a release to the IRR. Three times over a year. Got a "yeah yeah" and a hand wave and a "we'll look into it". They're never going to move their asses to transfer me. Not even kidding myself. Have gone up the chain about all these issues so many times. It's always "yeah man that sucks, anyway for next drill..."

I'm just done with it. About to just stop showing up. Any other options to make this as clean of a break as possible?

Someone please take my credit card away

Y'all. It's becoming a problem at this point. I ordered 18 last week and 12 this week.

I try to tell myself that yes, I have a good job for a reason and that I deserve to treat myself and don't have many other hobbies so I should find happiness where I can get it. I also do genuinely play with all of my collection. I have about 100 and rotate through 7-8 every single night while I watch TV or hang with the family. I play with them until they die and have never had a slime sit unused.

But all that being said, it is becoming a significant financial drain and I just can't seem to stop myself.

Does anybody have tips or tricks they use to stop the impulsive buying? How do you keep yourself in line with all the amazing drops that happen every week? Help!!

Denied access to Louisiana born grandfather's birth certificate? What are my options here?

I am needing my grandfather's birth certificate for my C3 citizenship claim. He was born in 1950 in Houma, Louisiana. His birth record has been harder to get than any of my earlier relatives even back to Gen 0.

4/17 I wrote into the Louisiana Vital Records office requesting a copy and attached the application form, money order, and my ID proving I'm his grandchild.

5/11 I get a response back in the mail that they cannot fulfill the order and I need to fill out an additional form different from the initial application, basically permitting his records to be released as his grandchild. They also needed a copy of my birth certificate. I gathered all the additional info, wrote another money order, and mailed the packet back in per the updated guidelines.

6/8 I receive a second letter in the mail from Vital Records. It confirms my order has been processed and the vital record is "attached" and thanks for doing business with me. In the envelope is my returned money order stapled to the form claiming they attached the document and nothing else?

????????????????

So they just lied to my face saying they attached the birth certificate and have now closed the order. I would give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they just forgot, if my money order wasn't also attached and stamped as "returned".

So I'm being blocked from getting his birth certificate. What are my options here? I'm overseas with the military and going to Louisiana to try and get the record in person is not an option. My dad lives in Texas and hell will freeze over before he puts in the effort to drive 10 hours to Louisiana and get the record for me. He's the only other one that can request it to my knowledge.

What can I do? Am I able to hire someone? Is that even possible since they won't release vital records without ID proving relationship? Help!

Worth hiring a professional genealogist to help me track down old Acadian birth records?

I am trying to track down baptismal records for two Acadian ancestors, one born 1751 in Grand-Pre, modern Nova Scotia, and the other born 1756 on the St John River in what is now New Brunswick.

My 1751 ancestor was deported to France, while my 1756 ancestor was deported to Louisiana.

From my understanding, both of their original birth records were torched during the Acadian expulsions and no original records exist, but apparently the NS or NB Archives could *potentially* have reconstructed microfilm of the originals that aren't available online?

I am across the planet from Canada right now and have absolutely no way to visit in person, so would it be worth it to hire a professional genealogist to go digging in the archives up there for me and/or searching other databases I don't have access to? Anybody have a similar experience hiring help for genealogic research?

I appreciate any and all advice.

I PC'd to the AF Reserve back in 2024 due to multiple reasons, including wanting to spend more time with my kids. I figured Reserve was a nice compromise compared to 24 hour OPs on active duty, and I could still keep the health insurance for my family plus a nice bonus to go toward our house, savings, etc. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

2 years on I'm regretting the decision immensely. I didn't expect to land a nice civilian job with its own health insurance. Reserve keeps me almost as tied up as AD, only now I have to constantly wrestle with my job to let me have days off and their patience is wearing thin. And commute between the two is several hours which blows.

Got some gripes about the unit like constant 4 day drills, pay delayed for months, favoritism that I didn't experience in AD, being expected to do extra tasks unpaid throughout the week (again taking me away from work), just things of that nature. Working 12-14 days straight, I see my kids *less* than on AD where I did 3/2's or 2/3's. I'm more irritable, stressed, burnt out. You get the idea.

I expected more of a chill, "happy medium" experience in the Reserve and this isn't it. Sure, dog on me all you want for being naive, I'll dog on myself right alongside you.

Point being, what are my options here? Not sure I can keep this up until 2029. Thanks for any advice.
