This is something I’ve been ignoring all my life, never spoke about it never even tried to process it. Not sure if I ever will or if there is anything to process at all.
When I was 14(F) I met a 18yo guy, he called me out from outside my school and asked for my email to chat. I know how this sounds right now…. But he became my boyfriend for a while, he was nice and treated me well, and eventually I lost my virginity to him. I was in love, so it all seemed good.
Except for the fact that right after I lost my virginity it felt like a switch went off and I was fully ready to meet random guys and have intercourse with them. Bear in mind, this first guy is was my first in everything, I never even kissed anyone before and was very afraid of anything involving sex.
I had sex with someone else less than a month later and then never stopped. I felt disgusting, but I was feeding of the attention, bad.
Not long after something happened: I went to meet this one guy at some house (to day I don’t know whom it was), we had sex and right after he opens the bedroom door, he tells me to stay there, and when the door opens again is another guy, and he forces himself on me. I pushed him, and screamed and eventually I just quit and let him do his thing. When he is done, I get dressed and go back home, the whole time I’m thinking “that’s what you get for being a hoe”, and decide it’s all my fault and I will just live with it. But what bothered me the most is that it was almost like I felt…nothing? My mind was like fuck it and i moved on to the next rando. And kept that going for years, not sharing that part of my life with no one.
Do this day, I have no emotion towards it, and I feel like I should have? People getting SA get traumatized and rightly so but I’m just, not? Always thought that something was wrong with me, now I’m a full adult and still feel like I must be completely out of my mind.
I was later in life diagnosed with bipolar, and I’ve been rationalizing that I’m simply insane, that’s what that was. Now i take a completely peaceful life, I take my meds and I’m happy and in control. But sometimes i still feel disgusted about that old me and thought comes to mind I might just be a crazy horrible person.
Parent to a 4yo. My child started practicing hockey recently, which he was really excited about. He would be very happy during practice, wouldn’t stop raving about wanting to go to hockey the whole week, and was super proud of how he was learning to skate.
Couple weeks ago, he started getting more frustrated. I feel as the demand gets higher, the more frustrated he gets and now he says he doesn’t want to go anymore, that he can’t skate, etc. I have been speaking to him about it, influencing him to go and keep trying, I give him a pep talk after every practice and he seems to receive it well. But then comes back to “I can’t do it / I don’t want to do it”.
I feel it might be a phase and once he gets more proficient he will get over it, but can’t help but wonder if I should be pushing him or not? I want to teach him resilience, and this has been one major factor into introducing him to a sport.
Anyone went through something similar? How did you manage?
Hello all.
As the title says, my 4yo is still not potty trained and does not show much signs that he will do so anytime soon. He does urinate in the potty twice a day, at school (when all other kids go, he does as well), and started to do the same thing right before bed (he asks to go) but not an everyday thing.
I was already advised that ADHD children might potty train much later than other kids, but he just turned 4 and I’m getting worried,
Anyone with similar experience and something to share? I guess I’m just searching for validation that all will be alright if I just give him the time he needs… Tips are also welcomed.
