Snake plant white stuff

Hi i’ve had trouble finding out what this is and im not sure how to fix it. The main mother plant has these white stuff with a blackspot in them and it was killing the plant. I decided to cut the rhizomes apart and left with the little one on the right (first pic).

The main plant is indoors and left beside a windowsill with afternoon sunlight. I only ever water it every 3-4 weeks when the soil is almost completely dry

There were still some of that white stuff so i dabbed a cotton bud and wipe it off myself on the spots that had it. I left it to callous and after a few days the white spots returned again.

Not really sure what this is and how i can get rid of it. I wanted to clear this up before repotting it back into soil just in case.

Any help is really appreciated 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Heavier new runner (111 kg / 245 lb) ready to invest in ONE proper shoe. drowning in options, help me stop overthinking it

Hey everyone

I'm a complete beginner who's just started running and... I actually love it. Like, genuinely look-forward-to-it love it. So I want to stop jogging in my casual sneakers and invest in one proper running shoe now.

Problem: there are SO many shoes out there that it's honestly paralysing trying to figure out which is best for me. Every list says something different.

I have read the WIKI but reading the reviews here on some of the recommended shoes made me more confused. So I'm throwing my stats at the experts.

My stats:

  • Height: 181 cm (5'11")
  • Weight: 111 kg (245 lb)
  • Experience: brand new, just short easy runs, building up gradually
  • Pace: ~10:00 min/km for a 5K, no speed goals, just easy miles for now
  • Surface: 100% road / pavement
  • Foot: US 10.5-11 normally with a width of 11cm at the widest part (is this considered wide?)
  • Pronation: neutral as far as I know, no gait analysis yet
  • Knees: tire a bit after runs (probably just new-runner legs, but I'd like cushioning that's kind to them)
  • Budget: i dont mind spending any amount
  • Location: Bangkok, Thailand so breathability might be something to look for

What I want: one do-it-all daily trainer to build base mileage on. Planted, comfortable, durable enough for my weight, ideally wide-foot friendly.

My shortlist so far (please tell me if I'm wrong):

  • HOKA Bondi 9
  • ASICS Gel-Nimbus 27
  • Nike Vomero Plus / Vomero 18
  • I also heard good things about the ASICS Superblast 3 & Megablast, adidas Adizero Evo SL, Saucony Endorphin Pro 5 but are those a mistake for a heavy beginner doing easy paces?

My main questions:

  1. For a 111 kg / 245 lb beginner on easy miles, is max-cushion (Bondi / Nimbus / Vomero) the right call over the lighter "super-trainer" types?
  2. Will soft race foams (Lightstrike Pro, ZoomX, etc.) pack out / feel unstable under my weight?
  3. Anything I'm missing for wide-ish feet that I should try?

Appreciate any wisdom, trying to make one good purchase instead of five mediocre ones. Thanks!
