Young professional here — Rolex Starbucks or Omega Moonwatch?

I recently started my first job, and my parents offered to buy me a nice watch as a gift to celebrate.

I wasn't really planning on spending this much on a watch, but after looking around, I've narrowed it down to two:

Rolex Submariner “Starbucks” (126610LV)
vs.
Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional

The Rolex has a really strong presence and feels like the kind of watch I could wear for the rest of my life. But the Moonwatch has so much history behind it, and honestly, I really love the design.

Since this would be my first serious watch, I want to choose carefully. My plan is to keep it for at least 10 years, so I'm not just looking for whatever is more popular right now.

If you could only choose one as a first serious watch, which would you pick?

I'd especially love to hear from people who have owned or worn both. Did your preference change after wearing one for a few years?

Also, be honest — does a Rolex at this price point seem a little excessive for someone who's just starting their career? 😂
