2 years ago I acquired a 2008 ML550 and this car was a Primo Ride. After about a year I noticed certain error images appear on the dashboard, such as: Air in tires function was inoperable indicator would appear / disappear randomly, or Tire Pressure Alert in Red on / off , the ABS light would appear/disappear, then it would not start at random times- grocery shopping try and turn it on - nothing except - dash lights but the car would not turn over and even act like it was trying to fire. I would bush the button after a bit same thing, 5x’s more nothing, then randomly it would just fire up and be perfectly normal. I had noticed that my rear license plate light was out and two brake lights on passenger side were out and then one Drivers side headlamp went out, put in all new lights and nothing helped the taillights, however the Drivers HeadLamp did repair perfectly with replacing the bulb, after a couple months the Passenger side Headlamp goes out and this is not something I could replace, so I took it to the dealership, they replaced the bulb and of course it went out again within 3 days of repair. Scheduling car repair times are difficult I wasnt able to get the car to the dealership to get the light fixed then; I started out my day 7:30 a.m. car started up normally 6 times, it ran smoothly engine good, temp good, random dash brake warnings and headlamp warning but the normal day to day indicators on/ indicators off scenario. Parked, came out next Morning absolutely nothing, even after a jump, no lights anywhere, at first then after the jump car would eventually get dash lights, radio, fan, etc and I’d try to turn it over nothing, replaced the battery, similar scenario got it towed to the MB dealership for diagnosis. Mechanic immediately punched a hole in the bottom of my brand new battery and would just replace it, I ran around grabbed another as it was on Warranty but he said he still needed to level up the charge as it was lower than ideal. Whatever, threw it on the machine, no dx, gave him a week no word two weeks no progress, what should have taken less time and less $$ cost me over $3,000 and he said “I think it MIGHT BE your ECM” there is only 1 left in Germany and it cost $3,000. I do pull the trigger to by on “I thinks” or “Maybes” bought another MB 2008-09 ML350 now similar shit is starting to happen with the new to me car. Please help? I will not return to MB for repair in my town and the only other is out of state. Have other people had this same issue????
