Calloway Designs chassis is pretty neat
Calloway chassis is pretty rad even without a can, though that'll be fixed soon. Anyone on the fence should send it

The ported Romulus is my first metal framed handgun and I can’t believe how hard I was sleeping on it. I’ve shot 1911s a fair amount but never a 2011, I didn’t quite understand why they’re so special.
Coming from polymer frames, primarily glonks and polymer 80s (the real shit, none of that bridge frame nonsense) I am blown away by how well it handles and the ergonomics. Shooting my ported g19 after my Romulus feels like it even recoils more, despite knowing that heavier guns have less felt recoil. This gun has everything I want in a pistol: ported barrel, direct optic cut, flared magwell, and extended slide release.
What upgrades are even available for it? I came out the box with everything I’d eventually mod a pistol to have lol
Where can I get a threaded barrel, is there part compatibility with another brand? I’ve emailed them and replied that I need to call CS, however the numbers provided go to voicemail and the mailbox is full. I even tried calling Andy but haven’t gotten ahold of him, his voicemail box is also full lol
For a level 2 holster I’ll be going with stay frosty, they surprisingly make ones directly for the Romulus.

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS FROM AUGFRT.COM, it guaranteed not to work and the owner/designer is a ghost, won't provide any help. to get it running even semi reliably it will take a significant amount of time and effort. speaking from personal experience it took me 1-2 months of range trips 3-5 troubleshooting. it was a GIANT pain in my ass
get the Super Safety SSAUGv2 from red star palmetto , its LITERALLY drop in. and has functioned flawlessly without any issues for at least 7k rounds. the owner/designer is very active in the discord and is happy to help answer any questions you may have.
I have seen far too many people falling into the trap of ordering the v1 from augfrt and posting pictures asking for help troubleshooting, I hope those people looking for a Super Safety will do the bare minimum research to save their frustrations and money.
MODS: I think it might be a good idea to have something about this in the community info or stick this info, I think it would help those new the community

AUGust is one of my favorite months because we get to see everyone's awesome builds! Y'all AUGtists are some of the most helpful, supportive, and just plain amazing people that make this community so great. So many of you have been there to answer my questions, offer guidance, and helped me out in so many different ways. I absolutely love each and every one of you AUGtists!
Shoutout to Arid and Red Star Palmetto for their incredibly hard work! I'm stoked to see what the future brings
Also, pour one out for our homie BZ and FUCK KAWACUCK (kawatec)
Got a OCL Ti waiting to be shipped from Capitol Armory and waiting for the Odd Mfg rate reducer (already have brrrt) drop tomorrow, I’m quite stoked!
Also ordered a Calloway Designs chassis (no pic rail) and A3 brace, soon my build will be complete!
I used a helicoil set from grangers. Drill out the holes with 1/4” bit, thread the holes with included tap, screw in the m6 helicoils with the tool, trim helicoils so they are flush with the receiver surface, and punch out/break off the tang at the bottom of the hole.
I used some vibratite on the screws for my silver star rail and torqued them down. All in took me under an hour! Helicoils are generally the superior option to repair stripped thread holes, I also recommend them for this application due to the (relatively) soft aluminum of the AUG’s receiver.
Image is from Dat Do in June 1972, quite interesting seeing an example of a soldier using a modified AK mag in his M16. I imagine it must have been reliable enough or we wouldn't see any examples of them in use?
I thought this was pretty cool and figured I'd share
Aside from needing another recover, my HBAR barrel is in need of a can
