Bullpup curious

I’ve always liked the bullpup design and thought the tavor was awesome but I think I’ll be avoiding it for reasons I don’t need to talk about here, so aside from that I don’t always have the highest budget out there so mainly looking at the hellion, keltec option, or a conversion. I’d be open to the wlvn if I was gonna really save up and the hellion is available to rent at my local range so I can get hands on time with it, I’d love some thoughts or guidance to direct me a bit.

ctar kit rail

I found a rail I was able to mount to the gas block. It’s a YHM riser. A little work was needed to make it fit but it’s a good option. One of the only ones currently.

X95 Thin Buttpad?

My X95 SBR form 1 approved, but having a hard time finding a thin buttpad anywhere. Any idea where I can find it. Obviously there's official IWI store but it's been OOS.

Tavor Barrel

What is this part on the barrel for? The barrel in my parts kit doesn’t have it. Just curious if it’s necessary.

I made a scope cover for the tactical FS2000

Pretty much title, pretty happy with the current results/progress. I have two tactical models, but not a standard and I wanted some of the original fish gun vibes.

Printed in PA6-CF, and allows enough space underneath for various red dots. Looks pretty good imo.

How's the RDB Defender?

Possibly looking to purchase an RDB Defender. I'm pretty burnt out on ARs and want to try something different with some carbine classes I have scheduled for the winter. What's the consensus on the platform? Do you hear more of the bad than the good or is it generally considered a solid platform?

It is finished... (Until a FRT exists for the Espada)

The suppressor got approved yesterday.
It's official, I have a new favorite gun.
It has the hydraulic buffer and all of the Matador goodies along with the Vent 2, and other stuff you see there.
It is a grand total of 23 inches long.
It was pouring down rain last night when I finally got it home, so I wasn't able to give it a full run through - but I did fire a mag off the porch at some trees about 100 yards off.
I learned two things I didn't know.

  1. The sound of brass falling onto a wooden deck is actually kind of loud.
  2. The firing pin hitting the primer is a very distinct click.
  3. The sound of a 9mm round hitting a tree 100 yards away in the rain is still louder than either one.
I really don't think I could be more pleased with how this ended up.
It even fits in the bag I carry around everywhere.

Dave and company, I salute you for a fine, fine weapon.

Learn new up on chassis my fellow bullpupers.

I think I'm ready to dip my toe into this space.

My goals:

5.56mm.

I want to be able to slap on multiple AR uppers.

Keeping ergos close to standard is a plus

My worries:

I don't want to have to piece this shit together. I want ease of, "This chassis takes <insert style of upper>. And it runs.

So lets go. Impress myself and everyone else with your experiences, woes, and knowledge 😁🤙

The TISM is strong with this one.

First AUG. Unfired AUG CQC safe queen. One of my favorite guns from BF4. I'll eventually add an A3M2 to the collection to actually shoot once the AUG FRTs get sorted out.

My 2 Favorites

These have fast become my favorites and my go to guns. My Tavor X95 has become a bit of a safe Queen. The Aug is just so much more accurate and versatile; X95 (300BO) is just a pain to suppress and maintain reasonable POI. I have both 300BO and 556 barrels for the Aug. The PS90 SBR with FRT is just a perfect truck/bag/HD set up.

Templar Precision will be bringing the MBAR to market

As some of you may already be aware, I'm partnering with Templar Precision, the makers of the ACR to develop the MBAR further and bring it to market. I have faith in them primarily because they already make a high quality non-AR rifle, and demonstrated a high level of competence. They've also notified me of their desired changes, all of which I am fine with. It should lower the costs of the production model even more. Unfortunately you won't be able to get it for 2-3 years as they do all the necessary testing. Bullpups sadly already have a bad reputation, and we both know that we have one chance to get it right. So we want to use this time to make sure it'll be perfect before release. I will still be involved and reviewing every change made to the design. They've taken possession of the prototype and have already started working on it.

I made the very first post about the MBAR anywhere, right on this subreddit in Sept 2024, using an account that has long been banned. Everyone told me I was crazy for trying to build a clean sheet design by myself, with no backing from any company, venture capital, or government, and that no company would want to license it, especially since I had no experience, and no connections in the industry. I kept working on it anyway because I had nothing else to do given the state of the job market by burning through money that took me almost a decade to save. I honestly never believed I'd get to this point.

I'm working on a belt fed design now, also a clean sheet design so I'll be starting from scratch once again. This one won't be a bullpup anymore so I probably won't be around on here much longer. Templar already called dibs on that. Though I'm not obligated to give it to them, I probably will anyway just because I'm too lazy to find another manufacturer. This'll likely be my last firearm design, I don't really see the point in doing a PDW anymore, and I want to get started developing radio and NV stuff instead, probably start an actual company with actual employees when I get there.

Anyway for those of you who missed GOALS, myself and the rifle will be at SHOT show and NRAAM next year.

CTAR Tavor-21

I got my CTAR parts kit in the mail yesterday. These kits are pretty gross. Theyre full of dirt and grime, however, the bore and bolt on this one as well as the trigger pack look like it wasnt routinely fired. Theres very little wear on any of the internal components. Just insanely dirty.

Overall Im pretty excited to get this built up on a much fresher semi auto SAR receiver I have available to me. My kit wasnt missing any small pieces. It looks like most of these rifles had one of the various flavors of meprolight optic on them, so I am hopeful that we may be seeing some surplus optics coming from the same place these kits did.
