A few days ago we launched Common Ground SMP, and it's honestly been a blast. We've spent the last couple of days building together, hanging out in voice chat, opening shops, exploring, and just enjoying Minecraft the way it was meant to be played, with good people.

We're not trying to build a giant server with hundreds of players. We'd rather have a smaller community where everyone knows each other, people recognize your name when you log in, and every new member actually becomes part of the group.
