My thousandth hot pumpkin spice latte this season, this one with cinnamon roll on the side

picked this up today, hot as always because i can’t do iced once the weather turns, and went with a cinnamon roll alongside it which turned out to be a better combo than i expected..

anyone else still ordering them this late in the season, or am i alone on this? 😂

I tested what AI search actually cites when people ask marketing questions and guess what´´Popularity´´had nothing to do with it.

everyone's talking about optimizing for AI search but i wasnt finding much actual testing, so i ran 10 prompts across chatgpt, perplexity and google AI mode to see what these models actually cite when someone asks about our industrythe pattern that surprised me: reddit only showed up when the question was about opinions or experience. stuff like "will every agency become an AI search agency". when i asked conceptual things like "how much do companies spend on GEO" every model went straight to search engine land, emarketer, google docs. zero reddit.

and popularity didnt matter at all. one of the cited threads had a single upvote and barely any comments. it just matched the question better than anything else did

so if youre trying to show up in AI answers, chasing viral content seems like the wrong move. matching a specific question people actually ask seems to matter way more

has anyone else tested this? curious if you're seeing the same pattern or something different, especially in other industries

a month of trying to figure out reddit and honestly half of what i assumed was wrong

so i started actually participating in marketing subs about a month ago, mostly to understand the platform instead of just having opinions about it, and a few things surprised me

the biggest one is that timing matters way more than i thought. like a mediocre comment on a thread thats 20 minutes old will do better than something i actually thought about on a thread from yesterday. nobody scrolls that deep. i basically stopped bothering with anything older than a few hours

the other thing, and this one took me longer to notice, is that answering the question isnt really what gets traction. my best comment wasnt the most useful one it was the one where i kind of disagreed with how the person was framing their problem. someone was asking how to get brands to notice their campaign ideas after cold outreach wasnt working and instead of giving them another outreach tip i said stop pitching privately and just publish the ideas, because then the work is the portfolio. that one did way better than stuff i put more effort into

also automod removes a lot more than people realize and doesnt tell you. i spent a while thinking some comments just flopped and they were never visible at all. karma requirements, link filters, whatever. now i read the sidebar first which feels obvious in hindsight

one thing that went the opposite of what i expected: being careful didnt help. the comments where i was generic and safe did nothing. the ones that did well were specific, sometimes admitting something didnt work for me

anyway curious if this tracks for other people or if im just generalizing from one account and one month
