What tiny recovery item is actually worth carrying on a trip?

I really into hiking, I’ve been thinking lately about what small items are truly worth carrying with during long trips or hikes. At home, things like foam rollers, trigger point guns, TENS devices, stretch bands can be useful. But on road, most of these become burdens. But some smaller versions might actually be handy, like mini massage balls, pre-cut tape strips, or a compact TENS device for relaxing at camp at night if use it regularly. What did you end up keeping in your gear?I’m particularly interested in finding items that are small enough but still useful. It would be great if you could mention their weight, or whether they replaced heavier recovery/emergency equipment you were carrying before.

Claude or ChatGPT?

Hey everyone, I’ve been trying to decide which AI tool makes more sense for me long term.

For the past while, I’ve been using both Claude and ChatGPT. At first, I thought it made sense to keep both, since they each have their own strengths and I could switch between them depending on the task. But after using them for a while, I’m starting to feel like I probably don’t need to pay for both. Keeping just one would be enough for my use case, and obviously it would save some money too.

The problem is, I genuinely like both of them.

I mostly use AI for work-related stuff. Nothing too advanced, but I use it pretty often. For example, I’ll use it to organize messy thoughts into a clearer structure, draft or polish emails, improve copy, plan content, or just help me turn scattered ideas into something more coherent.

Claude feels better to me when the task needs more careful reading or more thoughtful writing. For longer text, organizing logic, or writing something that needs a more natural tone, Claude sometimes feels more like I’m talking to a person who is actually thinking through the problem with me, instead of just giving a standard answer. If I’m working on something longer or more writing-heavy, I usually find myself wanting to try Claude first.

But ChatGPT is hard to give up too. It feels more versatile and convenient overall. A lot of the time, I don’t want to think too much about which tool to use — I just open ChatGPT and it can handle most things well enough. Maybe the writing doesn’t always feel as subtle as Claude’s to me, but it feels more like an all-purpose daily tool.

So that’s where I’m stuck. Claude feels better for certain writing and long-text tasks, but ChatGPT feels like the more complete everyday assistant.

If you could only keep one, would you choose Claude or ChatGPT?

What is AEO actually changing vs traditional SEO? Been thinking about this a lot lately because the way people discover brands online already feels very different compared to even a year ago.

A few months back most SEO conversations were still:
“How do we rank higher?”

Now I’m hearing way more:
“How do we show up in ChatGPT?”
or
“Why does Perplexity keep mentioning competitors instead of us?”

That’s basically where AEO starts becoming relevant.

The simplest way I’d explain it:

SEO is still mostly about getting pages ranked and clicked.

AEO is more about getting your brand/content surfaced directly inside AI-generated answers.

And honestly, I don’t think AEO replaces SEO at all.

The sites I keep seeing show up in AI answers usually already have:

  • strong topical authority
  • decent backlinks
  • clear site structure
  • trusted brand/entity signals
  • active mentions across Reddit/forums/blogs

So a lot of “good AEO” still comes from doing SEO well first.

What does feel different now is the type of content AI systems seem to prefer.

Across a few sites I’ve been testing, these things consistently seem to help:

  • short direct answers under clear headings
  • FAQ-style formatting
  • conversational writing
  • strong internal linking
  • multiple articles around the same topic/entity
  • citations and mentions outside your own site

And weirdly, some pages getting picked in AI answers weren’t even ranking #1 organically.

They just answered the question more clearly.

That’s why the tooling landscape is getting interesting too.

Traditional SEO tools are still incredibly useful obviously, but they solve different problems compared to newer AI visibility platforms.

For example:

  • Ahrefs still feels unmatched for backlink intelligence and authority analysis. If your domain authority/content ecosystem is weak, AI visibility tools won’t magically fix that.
  • Semrush is probably adapting the fastest from the traditional SEO world because they’re layering AI Overview tracking into an already mature SEO workflow.
  • Screaming Frog still matters way more than people think because technical SEO, crawlability, structure, and clean architecture still heavily influence how content gets understood.
  • Clearscope/Surfer are useful for content optimization, but honestly I think overly “SEO-written” content is becoming less effective for AI discovery compared to natural, experience-based writing.

Then you have newer platforms that are focused much more on AI visibility itself.

  • Vismore stood out to me because it feels less like a monitoring dashboard and more like an actual AEO execution platform. It’s trying to connect prompt tracking, optimization workflows, and distribution together instead of just reporting visibility metrics.
  • Profound feels very enterprise-focused. Heavy emphasis on citation intelligence, prompt datasets, governance, sentiment tracking, etc. Probably overkill for smaller teams, but I can see why large brands are paying attention.
  • Otterly AI seems built for speed and simplicity. More lightweight. Easier for freelancers/smaller agencies that just want quick visibility snapshots across ChatGPT/Perplexity/etc.
  • Scrunch AI seems very focused on buyer-intent discovery and recommendation monitoring, which honestly feels closer to the real business problem companies care about.
  • Peec AI keeps coming up in multilingual/international SEO discussions because most AEO tooling still feels heavily English-centric.

The biggest thing I’ve realized after testing a bunch of this stuff:

A lot of AEO tools are measuring probabilistic visibility, not guaranteed inclusion.

And nobody really has perfect attribution yet.

That’s still the hardest part.

Most companies can tell AI search is influencing discovery already, but they still can’t confidently answer:

  • why they were cited
  • why competitors showed up instead
  • whether AI visibility actually turns into conversions/revenue

Feels like the entire industry is still figuring that out in real time.

Curious what everyone else is seeing though.

Are you actually getting measurable traffic/leads from AI search yet?

Or mostly just impressions/mentions/experimentation so far?
